If your travels bring you to Fresno, don’t miss Chester Arnold’s retrospective—“Reports to the Contrary”—at the Fresno Art Museum (catalogue forthcoming). The exhibition, organized under the direction of Michele Ellis Pracy, is a survey of five decades of Chester’s powerful and at times darkly humorous paintings (and a few sculptures too). The exhibit is flanked by exhibits of Diego Rivera ‘s work and Andy Warhol’s print portfolios. Thanks to a program to support museums funded by Bank of America, entrance to the museum is free. Congratulations to @chester_arnold_painter and many thanks to @fresnoartmuseum for organizing and hosting the show. A huge thanks to the institutions and the collectors who generously loaned work to the exhibit, and to Aileen Mangan (registrar @cclarkgallery) for helping to facilitate the loans, making this exhibit possible.
