You were assigned by Fury to watch over the Avengers, specifically Banner. Apparently he had too many angry incidences where the other guy took over. All you had to do was to make sure he was calm at all times, and when he wasnât you had to bring him down. That is why you were currently in Sokovia hovering over the area where the Avengers were fighting.
âIs anyone tracking Banner?â You had requested him to have a tracker so you could locate him when the battles were over.
âYes, he is half a mile east of your location.â You pushed your earpiece in further.
âIs there a reason why he is not fighting with the others?â Usually, Bruce would immediately shift back when he was down fighting.
âYes, his serotonin and dopamine levels donât seem to be having a proper pattern. There are equally increasing and decreasing.â
âWhat?â This didnât sound good. This was not supposed to be happening. The last thing you needed was Stark bringing out the Hulkbuster.
âWould you like me to bring back up?â This was something you had to handle yourself. You knew Bruce better than anyone, and you were going to try getting through to him.
âNo, that wonât help. Iâll handle this one.â
You broke out into a run calling out his name. Not sure how you were going to handle this situation, it had never gotten that bad. As you kept running you noticed a trail footsteps, some big others smaller.
âNo, No, No.â
This was not good. Before you began to regret calling back up you heard a loud grunt coming from a group of trees.
âBruce.â You lowered your voice trying to mimic a serene environment.
âWhat?â His voice deeper, raspy, and he sounded like he was trying to hold something in.
âBruce just calm down.â As you gingerly stepped closer you began to see green. For a moment you thought he had finally calmed down. There was a load roar that erupted from him.
âBruce, please. Youâre stronger than him.â You knew was a bad idea to get any closer.
âI ca-âThere was another load bellow, this one worse than the last. The very pit of your stomach began to twist with every howl that was expelled upon the very atmosphere of the thin, cold air.
âIâm sorry. Iâm sorry you have to go through this b-âHe stumbled from behind the trees in human form, but very green. He was coming towards you. You quick turned around and ran not looking back. The air within your lungs was very few while your throat was being pitched as you took in the ones that you could manage find.
Shit.
There was a great weight that was thrown on you as you fell forward. You went tumbling down the snow, with Bruce trying to roll on top of you. You slowed to a stop you were below him as his was on top. His fist began coming down. You quickly took both of your hands to block him.
âStop, Bruce!â There were more shouts coming from him.
He is going back to Hulk.
Now was no time for delaying. You had to talk some sense into him.
âBruce, I understand why youâre upset. The feeling of not having control over your body. The fact that you feel like a bomb unsure of your own count down is extremely tough. If you just let me help you wonât ever go through it alone. Bruce, I know it hurts. Believe me, it always does.â
The tight fists that were once wrapped around your wrists were gone and Bruce jumped off you, rolling to a stop in the snow.
âIâm sorry.â His wales were triggering something in you. His original form was back but he was hunched over in a cry. You quickly ran toward him. Without hesitation, you began fulfilling your promise. You paused near his curled up frame before you could stop yourself you ran your hands through his hair and down his back.
âIâm sorry, I am sorry!â His salty tears were running along his hands that were covering his eyes.
âSh, I know, I know.â
