i truly believe that my wings exist for a symbolic reason, not for practical reasons, and that's why they're located where they are (just below my ears). i believe that rather than to actually be able to fly with them, they're there as a representation of my purpose as an angel - to listen to God, and to listen to humans, relaying messages between both.
i still have wings, to reflect my angelhood - but they're small, not huge and powerful wings sprouting from my back, which just emphasises the connection i in particular have with humans. i look more human with smaller, more "useless" wings that are less noticeable/angelic, because it brings me closer to humans and makes me less intimidating to them.
that's what i believe my "role" is. i work more closely with humans. or i did, before i was in this body.
