Salutation Miss Belle, i come here to you with this set of questions
you may see: i want to draw Iris or even Alkazar a bit more often, Funny Doodles or a more diverse set of things than of what i already done
and... i find myself being pretty BAD reading characters and keeping the image of them correctly, im more like jax on that aspect and enclose everyone into an "archetype" but with tadc i seen... most of the characters are more complex than that, also those wont help me with drawings
So it would help me (and i hope others too) if you answer some questions (would be good to add some by yourself on or the comments) about Iris
how iris would react to: (Avoid as many spoilers as you want)
1: Meeting a new circus member? not accidentally like with Pomni, more like "another normal day on the circus going on adventures and blabla-" And then a new member appears
2: which kind of adventures iris likes and hates the most? or in which type of them iris is suspiciusly good? (or bad) if its not much spoiler can i also ask why?
3: (i will keep this vague so you dont have to do acrobatics to avoid spoiling) how would iris react to someone background? like a very HARD background from someone good or bad
4: Iris and npc's Âżshe has a favorite? Âżhates one besides abel? what she would do if she discovers that the npc's are humans or have parts of the abstracted ones minds
5: iris reaction to two or more members figthing eachother (Like Pomni & Jax on ep 6) and how she would treat them after the fight
i think i dont have much more questions for now... but maybe i will come with a "the wilted of Truth and Answers: Part2" if i get interesting ones. also i should ask Shy about Alkazar
Ooohh, now THIS is a set of questions I have been WAITING for this entire time!! Okay, I’ll give you the basics and a bit of extra information here and there to help out!
1. In a circumstance where Iris meets someone new, she’s like Ragatha where she does her best to help someone settle in. Although, Iris isn’t sugar coating the situation, where if someone asks for a way out, she’ll say
“No, at least, not to our knowledge.”
But either way, since she’s the most mentally capable and the second oldest member in between Kinger and Ragatha, Iris knows more about the layout and would give a damn good tour.
In short, she’s helpful but ultimately she makes the dangers here clear (abstraction and whatnot).
2. Iris is REALLY good at puzzle based/mystery related adventures, given she’s always found herself wanting to test her skills with problem solving, decoding messages, and reading NPC’s like a book. She’s fairly good at reading people’s antics and is always looking for contradictions.
In adventures she’s bad at/non-favorites, is (funnily enough) luck-based RPG’s or “Party Games” (think like the Mario Party series) where it all revolves around dices, wheels, and essentially having to pray that she gets a mini-game/turn that goes for her advantage.
If the odds are against her favor, then she’ll definitely be frustrated!! She likes it when she has leverage XD
3. I’m ASSUMING you’re implying how would Iris react to someone’s backstory/history as a human (do correct me if I am wrong though), in which case it…depends honestly.
Iris is as empathetic as Pomni goes, as she understands (considering her history is rough as hell) that life sucks, and wants to help however she’s able to.
However, because of the complexities of human nature that varies between what someone has done, remorse, and the crimes of what someone COULD DO….all I can is this.
So Iris’ methods are complex when it comes to how she treats people (generally if you’re trying to improve yourself, she will support you)…except, when it comes to someone who is for example: more wicked, cruel, and unapologetically cruel than Jax. How would she treat them or see them? Especially if they DON’T choose to improve and is in fact worse.
In that case, you can forget about befriending her because she will make circus life miserable…VERY miserable, maybe even to the point of Abstraction.
You’d have to be a vile piece of shit to get her to do that.
4. Iris is fairly neutral to many and all NPC’s, liking and disliking some. I wouldn’t say she’d easily get attached like Pomni did with GummiGoo (early circus Iris might’ve), but currently Iris would treat them as any other character.
Although if she did learn that the NPC’s carried those kinds of traits, it would 100% make her more unnerved at this world for its capability to read their brains like a book and implement that in non-human characters.
5. This is definitely where it gets interesting, as Iris normally never involves herself in conflict unless she’s dragged in.
Iris would treat every fight with a more logical approach as an outsider, trying to figure out what’s going on and understanding the full context.
She’ll point out if one or both sides are in the right or wrong, and decide either they need to apologize or (if the fight is Really bad) to stay away from each other and calm down.
Overall, Iris does her best to handle things maturely. Not everything can be solved logically so, Iris resorts to whatever works for both sides…otherwise, she’ll just be the annoyed older sister trying to break up a fight.
I hope these helped out a bit and feel free to ask more questions!! Seriously I LOVE writing these out because I enjoy talking about my characters a whole lot!
