Miss Carpenterās features twisted into a sympathetic scowl. āRosalind Jones if you donāt stop being a baby and let me clean this, itās gonna get infected.ā

2. How long had they been dancing? She couldnāt be sure. She didnāt want to look at a clock for fear that the night would be over sooner than she wanted. Leaning down, she pressed her nose against the top of her head and drank in her scent. A sweet floral perfume that Ruth doused her in earlier that fit her well, and only a hint of soil from digging around her garden that morning. For just a moment, she envied god for knowing exactly how many hairs graced her head. For knowing her every thought at any given moment.

3. Kitās lips were so warm and soft. The calloused thumb brushed over her cheekbone and up into her hair. Emily couldnāt think straight. She reached out, touching the collar of her flannel and grasping at it in an attempt to ground herself. The two of them shifted until their bodies were flush against one another. It wasnāt until she pulled away and chuckled that Emily realized she was holding her breath the whole time..
āBreath.ā Kit grinned, touching a finger beneath her chin. She nodded, blowing out a sharp breath. The heat in her cheeks spread to every digit of her hands and toes. āYou donāt know how long Iāve dreamt about this.ā

4. Caleb sighed, tucking his gun away and looking at his once pristine snake skin boots. Blood splashed on them and no amount of wiping them against the cobble stone could clean them. Red flecked his cream suit.

5.Ā Fingers slid down Kitās arms, running along the smattering of freckles sprinkled along her skin. So cute. And so kissable. Without really thinking, Emily leaned forward and pressed her lips against the top of her shoulder. It shuddered. Looking up, Emily could only see the curve of her jaw and cheek. She didnāt seem to get much of a reaction, so she let her lips glide along Kitās shoulder until it reached her neck. She gave another shudder and this time a sniffle.
