Hey how did you digitalize those paper drawings? Ive been looking for a good way to do that for a while
Hi!!!!! im gonna show you how to do it cause its really simple.
what youre gonna want to do is take a clear photo of your drawing, the darker the line art the better. Make sure you have the flash on while taking a photo for the best results though on certain paper like hardback or notebook paper it might come out shiny due to the papers smooth surface so just be aware of that. (if you are taking a picture from that kinda surface, go somewhere with natural light cause that works best prolly)
now, im not sure what make of phone you have but this is how i do it on iphone 😓 though im like 99% sure youll be able to do this on other phones too just they might be in different orders.
if you go into your photos settings, there should be several different lighting settings. these are the specific ones i typically use:
and thats it!!! for coloured photos the settings may vary depending on how clear or saturated you want the colour to turn out but this works pretty well for basic line art :-)
also, cool extra, if you want to colour it digitally after on ibis paint x there are two reaaally handy ways that ive found work well:
1. importing the photo and adding an extra layer on top. change this layers blending mode to “multiply” then add colouring like normal!! this allows the colour to pass through the dark colours of another layer eg in this case, your line art.
2. after you’ve imported your photo, go to the filters feature and click on “extract line drawing”. this will automatically remove the white background and leave the line art. (this is why the darkness is really important!!) you may have to adjust it to fit your own preferences but yeah it’ll give you a completely transparent layer leaving only the line art so if you’re moving or adjusting lines you wont need to worry about potential issues with the white background.

And thats it!!!! hope this answers your question along with any follow ups but if you have any more feel free to ask!! 🩵
