I don’t mind a good codependent unstable ship, they’re great, “these two are so intertwined in each others lives and affect each other so much it might kill one of them” is absolutely my jam it’s so interesting to write and dissect etc

(Ship who you want—it’s fiction, you’re supposed to explore the themes and characters do it however you want)

But I despise when it’s depicted as “good” or “a happy ending for them” or “all of their awful traits and the terrible things they do/have done to each other don’t matter bc look and them they kissed!! They’re in love so it’s all okay!!”

Because they tend not to address the obvious issues with them??? And that’s so weird????

Either let them be purposefully fucked up and explore that with the disclaimer that you know it’s not at all good for either character, you’re okay with that, you just wanted to see what would happen to them,

Or write the cute romance you obviously want to??? There’s a point where I’m not sure it’s possible to have both

(To be clear I don’t mean “enemies to lovers is wrong and immoral bc they kinda hated each other at the start” I mean “person A killed person B’s family, assaulted them several times, and even when they get together they’re exactly the same person with no development. Still a creep/murderer/generally abusive but now they’re just treated like a Tsundere and everything awful is swept away and ignored)
