Groggy hands lift out of the blanket and find a tag, which she fiddles with before tearing it off the blanket and letting it drop over the edge of the couch.
She doesnât read it eventually - that tag is lost to the floor now. Instead, she just stays under the quilt and lets herself sleep more, nose barely poking out just enough to get that good cool air feeling. Sheâll understand more of whatâs going on tomorrow. For now, filled to the brim with good food and spiked ânog, sheâs gonna just stay here and enjoy the gift as Bill intended her to.
