Ok. So.
I like YutaMaki. A lot. I think they make sense together and their relationship developed organically in canon.
I also like NobaMaki (KugiMaki? WHY ISN’T THAT THEIR SHIP NAME?!?!) and InuOkko. A lot. They each have great connections in canon and they're just. so cuuuute.
So, I have this crack headcanon that they’re in a polyamorous relationship where everyone has two partners. But Nobara and Toge aren’t together. No.
They are both seeing Saki Hanajima.
Think about it.
She's canonically bisexual (crushes on Kazuma & marries a foreign man but also talks about marrying Tohru like it's the most obvious thing in the world)
She's probably the Fruits Basket universe's equivalent of a cursed speech user, and accidentally cursed people when she was younger, so she has that in common with Toge
She can read "waves," so she'd have no trouble understanding Toge beyond his limited vocabulary
She has a unique sense of humor, so I feel like she and Toge would get up to a lot of fun together (although people don't always "get" her humor)
I think she'd also be drawn to his kind heart
I can totally picture her and Nobara going on shopping trips together that end up being as much about eating as shopping
I feel like her personality would both complement and match Nobara's depending on how you look at it - they're both called "scary" by their classmates, but Nobara has more fire on the surface where Saki is more aloof-seeming
She and Nobara both have no tolerance for bullies; Saki was bullied out of her childhood town or neighborhood due to her powers and frequently chases off Tohru's bullies, where Nobara stood up to Fumi's bullies and watched Saori's family move away due to persistent harassment
They both have scars on their left forearms; Saki from being burned by her bullies, and Nobara from her battle against Kechizu, and I can totally see them bonding over it
A lot of people ship Saki with Arisa Uotani (also from Fruits Basket), who has a lot in common with Nobara (also, Arisa's sibling-like friendship with Kyo is similar to Nobara's frequent bickering with Yuji)
They're all fiercely protective of their loved ones and formidable opponents in battle
In conclusion:
