Mein #2 Interview bei AYUSA INTRAX | AuPairCare
Freigeschaltet!
Juhu!
Peinlich! HAHA! Naja wir haben es mit Humor genommen.
Danach sollte ich Fragen auf Englisch beantworten.
?!:
Wieso willst du Au Pair werden? Wieso in Amerika?
BYE!

Culture Interview:
1 – What is your name and where did you come from?
Wu, Huei-Ju I come from Taiwan.
2 - How was your first week in Chicago? How do you learned to survive here?
I felt a little nervous and exciting. I missed my family and dog so much and I could not totally understand what others said. If I did not understand everything I asked my host or teacher.
I also called my family every day.
3 - What was the most unexpected event during your exchange?
I bought a bank coupon for $ 26 by Ebay last week and used it for banker but he said it had been used by someone and I can't use it.
4 - How is being your exchange?
I felt everything is fresh for me. Have different culture is a interesting thing for me. I like everything here but l also miss my family.
5 - When will you go home?
I will go to San Francisco on 12/6/2015 and back to Taiwan before next Chinese year.
Landscape 1 – Top of The Navy Pier’s Ferris Wheel
It was me at 79 meters upper the floor taking a selfie with Lake Michigan at background. I was lucky with a clean sky, sunny day but strong wind and no more than 12 oC. From there I saw how great is the lake, it seems like a sea. Of course I saw the city around us with its great building.
Landscape 2 – Preferred masterpiece
It is really difficult to choose a masterpiece in Chicago because each block has one at least but I chose Regeneration because it is a sign of the effort of all people to rebuild Chicago from scratch after the great Chicago fire in October 1871.
Landscape 3 – Inside a museum
The Field Museum has everything you can imagine about the America continent. It shows both ancient cultures and animals from Alaska to Argentina. Some attractions are prepared with multimedia interaction. You can hear people speaking in their native language, not only in Spanish or English, the sounds of birds and other animals. Just push the button. There are a comparison of shelters , clothes and styles between Indian in each region. Behind me is the well behaved Sue.
Landscape 4 – zoo with selfie
What the turtles are taking about? I realy don't know but they have all time to keep in touch.
Landscape 5 – A photo that represent my exchange
Jimmy was adopted by our group and came with us in many places. In his culture people just waving hands when find each other. I don’t know how uncomfortable he was when I hugged him at the first time, less than one hour before we took this picture at the Hard Rock Cafe. Imagine his face when we told him he would pay the bill for all of us because he was sitting at the head of the table as a Brazilian habit.
Testimony:
How is been my student exchange?
It was nice most of time. Here are dangerous neighbourhood as any other place in the world but there are much secured places to go, just don't go to south! The government spend money where is essential. The train arrive at time but the station is very simple. Another example: the libraries are superb, I never see how well cared they take the study as here.
How it will affect my life?
I stopped to believe in stereotype, US has the same problems we have in Brazil but they know how to not show them. I hope I will start to see my country with different eyes.
Description and history of Oak Park
My homestay was in Oak Park, a suburb less then one hour from Chicago downtown. It has some memorable people as:
Frank Lloyd Wright, was an American architect, interior designer, writer, and educator. By 1901, Wright had completed about 50 projects, including many houses in Oak Park. That is why each house here is unique.
Ernest Hemingway In October 1954 he received a Nobel Prize in Literature. The Old Man and the Sea was the last major work of fiction to be produced by Hemingway and published in his lifetime.
About the Intrax
A great school! More than a place to learn English, my classmates came from South Arabia, Liban, France, Taiwan, Tailand, Korea, South Korea, Japan, China, Venezuela and Chile. All at the same room speaking in English. Been contact with them make stereotype falling in my mind.
