21: If you had infinite funding, what would your research be about? 

I don’t know enough about anything to make that kind of decision and your judgement in making that kind of offer is questionable at best. I’m still shocked I’m legally allowed to sign leases or reproduce. I like what I’m doing though! Quite a bit! Particle physics meets solar astronomy aboard ISS FTW! And the next phase is really cool too if it gets funded! There’s even a...reasonable amount of stuff I’m not allowed to talk about!

26: What do you enjoy most about doing science?

Constantly learning new amazing stuff! There is never an end to the cool stuff to learn. If only we could live forever doing physics and never running out of cool things to learn. There we go, #21 needs to be making us immortal physicist researcher nerds.

40: Thoughts on AI and robots? 

I don’t buy into the “robot uprising” thing. Actually, I read a thing not long ago on how that seems to mostly be a Western construction and might actually have foundations in white guilt--so then I went out and read the Apex Book of World Sci-Fi vol 1-4 and that seems like a fairly reasonable assertion. So many different perspectives! Also, read River of Gods. Aaaaahhh international sci-fi is honestly one of the things I’m most excited about having run into in the last couple years. All hail the internet.

45: Favorite Dinosaur? Fossil? whatever… 

All hail the helix...just kindding. Kinda. I actually get really excited about (the erroneously named) Turritella agate! It’s fossilized snails from Wyoming and there’s a ton of it...so I might have to grab a slab for birfday. And then show the niece and nephew because, fossils don’t have to be vertebrates and 4 years old is a great time to learn that!

50: What’s your favorite element? 

Mmm, that’s difficult. How do you choose a favorite? Probably the element of surprise.
