As you might have noticed (*cough*), this blog has been somewhat MIA for a couple of years (mainly cause of life changes, time priorities...).

As my co-admin suggested, it might be time to get some new admins on board; would be sad if this blog continues to not be used. I loved the admin work on here and seeing and reblogging all your amazing art! Especially with the news of a possible third season, I’m sure there’s some really cool drawings and art in general around the corner - I’d love for this blog to be able to continue showcasing it.

SO: Could you imagine yourself as admin of intheflesh-art? Message me! Preferable we create a small team around it, to be able to continue using it and hosting some cool stuff.

i wanted to be a visual artist until a teacher told me i “couldn’t draw,” and that i should “focus on something else,” and for all she knew, there was a masterpiece inside of me. it’s something that, even with my crushed Basquait/Dalì dreams, i’ve never been quite able to shake. i always knew i wanted to make art - i went through a Fred Sanford/Harriet the Spy phase once - even when i didn’t know how. i used to escape into the neighborhood, convinced i was a Power Ranger, blithely unaware of the dangers i regularly placed myself into. see: even as a kiddo, i had a vision of the world i wished to exist in. and i always knew i had to create it.

i had been deliberating with how i wanted to dive into the recording of my EP, #FLESH, while keeping the process both accessible and mysterious. since my INTENTIONs were to dive into for the next three months, i decided to set them officially during this (October 2019) full moon. a common thing that has been surfacing throughout this process has been “how?” and hopefully, by sharing it, i can not only show what i’m working on, but express the inspiration for each song, the things that inspire me, and finally, the complete EP, an introductory opus, if you will.

for this project, i had to write, produce, and record myself. of course i’d like to have collaborators and their input, both creatively and intellectually - would be GREATLY appreciated it but after many many years of waiting for, depending on, and deferring to others, i think it’s time i show far better than i could ever tell. i created this and am writing this post, both to introduce you to the world of @iputahexxonyou and to hold the human behind the INTENTION accountable.
