I regret having not valued steven universe when it aired. Because of my internalized mysogyny (that i wasn't aware of) I was uncomfortable with what the show gave in abundance: flawed female characters who openly showed their anger - because that's what I was taught to believe was "bad" or "unlikable". I regret I haven't realized it sooner but I'm glad i can look back at the show and appreciate it more now.
“I’m not like other girls” to “I like other girls”

i feel like the underlying problem with all these shippers and fanfiction is just the internalised misogyny and fetishization of gay men by people who are 95% of the time straight and can't see a relationship without the roles of man and woman as if lgbt people haven't been living our lives in relationships that are nothing like that
I have nothing to add.
Thank you. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

"what's your gender identity?"
I just want to mean something.
Was reflecting earlier, I feel euphoria towards both genders, I think. I'm not sure. But I know it really didn't come down to what gender I wanted to be. It came down to the fact that I just want to be me. I don't want to identify with a gender. And maybe that's because I think you're gender determines your worth, Internalized misogyny if you will. Maybe. I had a thought of someone asking me, a guy specifically, "what's your gender?" And in my head, I said boy, before quickly saying "why, so you can determine if I'm worth speaking to?" A "Nah, fuck that." followed and I decided I wanted to be alone. Because that meant no matter what I choose to be, no one's eyes mean anything. Because I can finally be a girl and be okay. I can finally admit to the fact that the only reason I truly cling to the stereotypical identity "boy" is because I won't be seen as worthy otherwise. And I'll never have the confidence in being a woman that I wish I had. Maybe I don't want to be a woman at all. But if it ever truly came down to me wanting to be a man, I would hope it weren't for that reason.
what does boy even mean? what does girl mean? what does any of it mean, really? why do I have to label something that I don't Identify with. My gender truly means nothing to me. Correction, my gender means something to me but labeling it doesn't concern me until it becomes a social interaction and I *have* to give my opinion.
I'm not a gender at all. I'm just Billy. Billy is not a boy. Billy is not a girl. Billy is not something in between, not something for you to assume or try to understand. Billy is a person, a human. Billy is me. Let me be me.
I guess I feel like I'm missing out. By not clinging to some identity. I don't really know why it means anything to me. I don't know why I get so upset and emotional with this topic. I just wish I didn't have to choose something, some label, so that people could understand me. I wish I didn't have to be anything at all. But that shows up in multiple aspects of my life. I have depression and I'm suicidal. I don't really want to exist anyway. But I don't want to exist in gender either.
Internalized mysogyny is like
"I'm not like the other 3.5 billion women on Earth, I'm sPeCiaL."
