this is transmisogyny and intermisogyny.

fucking horrifying. not only is this incredibly discriminatory to trans women, when studies show that trans women do NOT have an unfair advantage over cis women [link], but it's incredibly invasive and will harm trans and intersex women in forcing them to have unwanted testing to determine if they're "real" females. not to mention the countless WOC, intersex or perisex, who were hypermasculinized and put under WAY more scrutiny of "unfair advantage" than their white peers?

Remember the women who were treated horrifically due to intermisogynoir and other forms or intermisogyny intersecting with racism.

Julia Pastrana was also another woman deeply impacted by the freak shows. Her conditions were used as a way to make her into a spectacle. She was a native Mexican woman and much of the stories made up about her are deeply rooted in anti-native racism.

You are completely right, honestly. I have yet to see intersex characters (or headcanons) where intersex men can be masculine, intersex women are feminine, intersex people in general are androgynous, and we aren't just sex tropes. The only headcanons I've seen are the ones I've written myself ATP;-; it's wild.

While it's totally cool and awesome to write intersex GNC characters, it's also just. Limiting. Bc a lot of intersex people are cis, and present typically. That doesn't make them bad representation, at all actually, and I really wish there were good stories that explored that demographic.
