it’s a masters in clinical research so I’ll be doing a project with a supervisor (i’ve chosen one on pancreatic cancer) and yeah we have to do some papers and exams throughout the year as well :) x

What does 'intercalating' mean? What will you do exactly?
So it’s basically when you take a year out of med school to do another degree. I’d probably do an MRes (Master of research) but there are other options available like BSc, MSc, etc.Â
So for me if I do an MRes, I’ll probably go and do some research for a year with a doctor. I’d probably do something gastro/liver related cos those are my faves at the moment. x

I thought intercalated degrees lead to a BSc/BA, not a Masters?
Nope you can do Masters too, though it may depend on the university and what they offer :)Â

Last week I was extremely pleased to hear from King’s College London on my acceptance to intercalate in women’s health in the following academic year. Hello, I’m still thinking about it! I was all for it before, but now that I’m 4th year I’m wavering because I’m starting to get excited to actually become a doctor and earn money etc. But we’ll see… x
