What a difference 400 years makes:
London skyline 1616 vs. 2016
Inspired by Claes Jansz Visscher’s classic engraving of London half a century before the Great Fire, Robin Reynolds has updated the view to the present day, recreating Visscher’s perspective as closely as possible, but detailing the London riverside of 2016.
Visscher Redrawn is at London’s Guildhall art gallery until 20 November. The Guardian cities shows us the London skyline 1616 v. 2016 – interactive here
