BEHIND THE SCENES!
Only because I don't see enough posts like this and I think they're neat so logically at least one other person will think they're neat! This isn't a tutorial or anything just "here's what you didn't see me struggle bus through" THERE WAS SOME STRUGGLE! LOL
This man's mouth...... Around 7 hours of of work went into his face and mouth. But please don't mistake that for some kind of brag - it's literally because I'm so out of practice and unfamiliar with the face bones! Getting the lips "just right" is....ugh.
The ACTUAL shoulder used vs. the crunchy hidden shoulder. I fake stuff like this all the time. MAYBE if he'd been either shirtless or wearing something with detachable pauldrons this would've been fine, but I REALLY needed him to be wearing that armor.
In total 18 layers went into making the saliva. Part is cut up and re-assembled from a (paid) stock photo, part is hand drawn. It's so small on the image that it comes down to counting pixels. 5 may belong to a cut from the stock image but 2 were added haha. This was so tricky because the major difference between saliva and "other bodily fluids that might drip off a tongue like this" (eyebrow waggle) is that saliva is clear and tends to be bubbly. So I was REALLY going out of my way.
Actual size snip of the (paid) stock photo I was using. So this was HILARIOUSLY high res for what I was using it for. This was the part I really started laughing. I went to design school for this. I have a degree. And what am I doing? I'm carefully photoshopping spit bubbles onto Elezen.
