It is a happy day friends and fans when @Moseri announces that a focus on photos will be back this year! 🤩Did you hear that my “Instagram Purists” as we were called on an article that was shared by @SocialMediaToday? I’ll take it because I am one of those. As quoted by Mosseri 👉🏼 “I think we were overfocused on video in 2022 and pushed ranking too far, and basically showed too many videos and not enough photos.” They are trying to find a balance which is the right strategy rather than focusing on copying the competitors and that is music to my ears. I have adapted to the reels but honestly feel that as a content creator I shouldn’t be fitting my content into a mold that is forced by an algorithm, but this is what we do as marketers. Our clients on the other hand not so much. When I see my real estate clients spending so much money on the best real estate photography to showcase their clients’ homes, its kills me to see them put these perfect images in a reel to appease an algorithm when a home is best showcased a regular size video or the photos themselves. So again, YAY for this news! Who is excited about this news?
