The series had, really, a very humble beginning. It was a series of short stories in the magazine known as Je sais tout, and captivated all those readers and their relevant circles. I am a little sorry to say I consumed Leblanc’s life somewhat. If you happen upon any of his other works, let me know what you think of them, eh? I should like to know how much of Edgar Allan Poe resides in his writing. (We’re both fans of that grisly work, he and I!)
