The world is not enough.
I haven't blogged for a while.
I thought it was about time to get back on the horse and Blog again!
This year hasn't been fabulous so far in my head, but when I look through my photos it has been a fabulous year, I have met some wonderful people, I have photographed some amazing events and I have taken some stunning pictures. I am beginning to realize how much I struggle to live in the moment, I don't step back to take a deep breath and enjoy what is happening. Maybe it's the modern fear, the fear of missing out, squeezing in everything, to make sure that every second counts, ingesting as much content as humanly possible without fully enjoying it. Maybe it's all the social media posts of celebrities and influencers dashing around the world portraying the image of compressing so much more than us mere mortals into their day, but in reality, like the silver screen, the photoshopped front page and fake news it's an illusion of real life. Life cannot be squeezed and the more you try to keep up with everything the more you will fail.
I once read a book called tIn Praise of Slow By Carl Honoré, I wish I had taken more notice of the advice because I still find myself being sucked into the fallacy of you can do it all, not only is that impossible but why? It's time for me to live more in the moment, enjoy my family more, enjoy the music more, enjoy my food more, enjoy my Ice Hockey more, my F1 more, and enjoy my sleep more. I think it's about time to take stock of my photos, to really enjoy them, to be proud, and to feel excited.
The photo is from my own collection taken at West Moores Country Park back in 2021.
