Okay but consider alt high school au. Could be inonezu or inozen I’m not picky at this point in my life but lets just go based off this being inozen in this post:
Inosuke and his gaggle of mother figures. Wisteria granny is actually a combination of caseworker and foster mom. He was raised by wild boars and she’s helped set up a life for him. For the longest time she’s the only one who can rein him in.
He meets Shinobu and begins to trust in her and get along with Kanao. Its slow coming but he gets to the point where he feels like they’re family
And then Shinobus family (wisteria granny is an old family friend) adopts him and he suddenly has two new official sisters and just like wisteria granny they aren’t scared when he lashes out and just help him adjust further to living among other people
Zenitsu was taken in by a kind older man at a young age- he had never wed nor had children of his own so he just adores Zenitsu like you wouldn’t believe it. Tough love mostly (he’s a war veteran so there’s still a strictness to him)
Inosuke kinda scares Zenitsu at first but he fits in quickly with tanjiro and him. Whyd he have to be stuck with the chronic dress code violators when he’s the guy that does uniform checks? Is god cruel? It isn’t fair
He doesnt care that inosukes a bit of a celebrity due to his mowlgi-esque past
Zens kinda in closeted bi hell for the longest time and suffering from internalized homophobia. So he just kind of writes off his budding affection for inosuke as friendly concern and inosuke doesnt really understand his own feelings. He just knows he feels warm when tanjiro isn’t around so he has to hide behind inosuke (lest Tomioka’s wrath does him in)
He’s still in contact with wisteria granny (he spends the weekends with her and visits after school a lot) and when he explains his feelings to her she smiles kindly and suggests that he make Zenitsu a home made bento
So he starts practicing. After a week he comes into school with two bento boxes. Ones just absolutely fuckin packed. And its a little messy but its made with love and has several vegetables cut up into heart shapes. Inosukes great at remembering all his loved ones’ likes and dislikes so its all of Zenitsus favs
He can feel an arrow pierce him through the heart can someone please take him to the nurse? Its serious he’s gonna die
He accepts it but he’s too giddy and before he knows it inosukes eaten his own and picked at half of Zenitsus but Zenitsu cant even care because inosuke shoots him a cute little grin, cheeks just a lil pink and it should be gross because his cheeks are stuffed full of rice but it just endears him to Zenitsu
(Misc stuff: Zenitsu is in chorus and plays backup for three instruments in their band. Gramps let him learn as many instruments as he desired- he has a natural knack for it and perfect pitch. Inosuke doesnt really care about music but he sneaks into the practice room a lot to listen to and watch Zenitsu play)
