Inner Corridors
The inner corridors can only be accessed by one of the four semi-cardinal spiral staircases in the corners of these corridors, from the huge double doors between the inner and outer corridors, or from the enormous library in the center of the palace. Where the outer corridors are cream and pink and bright, the inner corridors are red and dark and made of heavy wood. Each wall is made up of small intricate panels of embossed wood, decorated with various little artworks that one must stand still in front of to really appreciate. On the inner walls of this corridor are similar heavy wooden doors that lead out to the outer corridors, but these are decorated with motifs similar to the lower halls (south/main door is decorated with roses and has a stained glass crescent with a rose design directly above it). The floors of the inner corridors are covered with a thick dark red velveteen rug. The ceilings are high, like the outer corridors, but these ceilings aren't as well lit, adding an air of mystery and a touch of fear and unknown to the inner corridors. This is not for nothing.
