White Counties Are Also America's Safest Counties
Westmoreland County is a beautiful, peaceful rural area with one of the lowest homicide rates in the country. It's also 93.5% white and almost all homicides are committed by blacks or immigrants.
Washington, DC - In 23 years as Westmoreland County's top prosecutor, District Attorney John Peck has learned it is impossible to anticipate the number of homicide cases his office will prosecute in a year. But one thing that Peck does know however, is that whatever that number of homicides will be, it'll be lower than other Pennsylvania counties like Philadelphia. Last year, Philadelphia had the dubious honor of racking up the highest number of homicides in the state of Pennsylvania and being among the top counties in the country for homicides, at a staggering 314. That's almost one homicide a day. The reason why Westmoreland County see's less than 5 percent of the number of homicides that Philadelphia sees is clear - Westmoreland is 95.3 percent white. This county is a microcosm of well-known, well-studied trends of violent crime - that non-whites commit a disproportionately high amount of violent crimes. Of course an area that is nearly all-white will have a much lower rate of crime than one that is more "diverse."

Peck, who was first elected in 1994, said,
"You can never tell, because that number really does fluctuate every year. And there is really no explanation for it."
"Some years we could have a dozen, and other years maybe only four. You never really know."

“There Are Birds Here” - Jamaal May
For Detroit
There are birds here, so many birds here is what I was trying to say when they said those birds were metaphors for what is trapped between buildings and buildings. No. The birds are here to root around for bread the girl’s hands tear and toss like confetti. No, I don’t mean the bread is torn like cotton, I said confetti, and no not the confetti a tank can make of a building. I mean the confetti a boy can’t stop smiling about and no his smile isn’t much like a skeleton at all. And no his neighborhood is not like a war zone. I am trying to say his neighborhood is as tattered and feathered as anything else, as shadow pierced by sun and light parted by shadow-dance as anything else, but they won’t stop saying how lovely the ruins, how ruined the lovely children must be in that birdless city.
Mathew's response tho lmao

Rethinking "Gun Violence:" Mislabeling and Its Consequences
The debate over gun control in the United States is often framed as a necessary response to the epidemic of “gun violence.” However, this framing can obscure the true nature of the problem. A closer examination of the data reveals that the majority of gun homicides are concentrated within a specific demographic: black males, with most incidents involving black-on-black violence. The Mislabeling…

George Floyd: Not a Model of Excellence
The death of George Floyd, while tragic has somehow morphed into the violent protests the American people are facing today. Is it time for Black Americans to take a long look at how they are being used by the Democrat Party?
Opinion
George Floyd, a thug, a drug dealer, and user died at the hands (knee) of a Police Officer.
Unfortunately, somehow, after his death, George Floyd was elevated to a symbol of sainthood in Ghettos around The USA!
As a Black man, I am fascinated by this incongruous and inappropriate elevation to the apotheosis of a damn near Godlike presence in The Black Community.
June 9 named…
