27 & 28 !!
27: What is their biggest regret?
OH BOY. He’s very motivated by guilt, and his current worries often take the wheel, but at least one of his biggest regrets has to be that when he left home, he never found a way to get his little sister out of there as well.
It’s both a blessing and a curse that she’s being raised the way she is in their family, because she’s safe, and valued, and he can only hope that she isn’t being treated badly, but he’s absolutely terrified that she’ll turn out callous and oppressive because of the role she’s intended for. She’s the only member of his family that he has any real love for left.
28: Who do they see as their best friend? Their worst enemy?
The person Vince’s considers his best friend through the period which I like to write him in his canon is a Southerner (A coastal society far from the desert) girl who grew up in Yorshov and was institutionalized in the same place as him. Her name is Kura and she’s a little pear full of anger.
He has people he hates, but his worst enemies tend to be broad concepts or classes rather than individuals. He’s very bitter towards the idea of a supposedly benevolent god or force, that he’s convinced is either failing or straight up malicious.
His biggest struggles have been caused by his own family and in a grander scale, the current upper/ruling class of Yorshov which is corrupt and breaking down.
More directly, he’s got a LOT of anger and straight up hatred for the peacekeepers/police force of his city, mostly because he’s seen more than enough street executions.
