Doodle dump for Darkworld!Blob. Some are just shitposts, showing off my awful sense of humour, and I think I might have posted some of these before, but:
What do you think inky media is like? An entire department of inkt is dedicated to media (mostly propaganda yes) but they have art and entertainment, they have commercials. Is inky media unpalatable to Raydians in a similar way inkys feel towards them. Does inkt equally monitor and subject art from inkys? Are there like cult hits in Raydian circles that come from inkys because of how alien it is?
I think that everything they make is controlled by their government, and most of the commercials were actually aimed at the raydians, in a attempt to get them to use the products that INKT created and probably drugged.
I'd say their stuff is either very traditionalist (ie. all realistic paintings), with anything considered too progressive deemed deviant and banned, or is extremely abstract, and not in the cool sense. More in the sense that anything that could communicate any idea not approved by the government should not be allowed. A lot of stuff that demonises everyone else.
Inky media is probably fairly unpalatable, even just for the bad memories associated with it.
For the last part.
Ehhhhh.
I've talked about it here a bit: Inkt headcanon: They made military songs and propaganda songs that's to raydian's shock, they're bangers. A lot of dictatorship... – @monochromeattack on Tumblr
But, I think that watching/reading/listening to anything INKT produced would raise some eyebrows at best.
They're space nazis.
gotta feel for the unfortunate boat operator that stopped at the islet CB landed on presumably to retrieve crab traps and foolishly brought him ashore to paradise island to begin a new plot
Imagine finding out that you accidently allowed a guy who is basically Hitler to get off the desert island he was stuck on. I genuinely had not though about that before, but that's just -
I mean. How would you even feel about something like that. How would other people feel?
Would they understand that you did not mean to do that and that you didn't even know that he was there? Would they even believe you?
Would it affect how people treat you?
You would be responsible for what is effectively a second war.
What does that do to your mind?
I AM HAVING NORMAL THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS!
did you have any ideas for inky footsoldiers [soldiers, seargeants, heavies, elites, spikeys, basically anyone not operating something in a seat]
As usual, naming is not my skill, but:
Sniper: Does exactly what it says on the tin. Would probably work by having an area it can strike in, and will shoot you for high damage if you stay still for too long.
Deflector: Holds a riot shield, cannot be killed using charge.
Commander: Boosts the health and damage (or just outright makes them invincible, but that would most likely be really annoying) of other inkies in a small area until killed. Probably wouldn't be able to deal much damage itself, but needs to be dealt with first.
And one I am completely stumped to name, but one who can throw grenades that burst into a lingering cloud of damaging gas.

a potential rename for the heavy inky would be to the streetbleacher
also questioning why some of them were never given fire instead of inkmist
what like ultrakill streetcleaner
As to why they don't have flamer throwers. That's probably more of a gameplay thing than anything meaningful. Fire has the same effect as ink did in the first game (drains your health at all times until you enter water), but is a much rarer hazard.
Ink was as annoying as fuck in the first game because of its effects, prevalence and how in the later levels, you might get inked and be miles away from a water source, leading to a stupid death.
In universe, I think that INKT probably has a focus on bleaching areas, and an ink sprayer would aid in that more than flamethrower would. It should also be noted that however it is the sprayer works, it can hurt other inkies. I don't know how, maybe its under very high pressure and shreds them, maybe its boiling hot and burns you anyway.
Also! Semi-relevant, but one of the main reasons chemical weapons were used less in warfare after the first world war is that its very hard to control where they go. If the wind blows in the wrong direction, your soldiers get dosed instead. Which isn't very helpful at all.
do you suppose any inky would have a name synonymous with the monochrome
Yep. Or at the very least in my opinion.
Most of their names are shades of black/grey/white, with other categories including materials of those colours (think Jet, or Slate) and names to do with ink.
I think that there would also be a number/serial code in their names, like in books like We.
Do you think Inkys could change allegiances? We sometimes see Inkys having doubts and lean towards the arts, like the one guy in the intro to Inkton collider wanting to be a figure skater and even getting coloured roses in their fantasy.
Yes, I do!
I do think it would be very rare, as their society is very controlled, and it would be rarer still for them to make it out of INKT controlled areas without being killed, but I do think that that's possible. They're not a hivemind, they just have very strong case of groupthink.
Sadly, even if they do leave, they don't really have anywhere to go, especially on Raydia. The vast majority of the environment is really not suitable for them.
There's probably parts of the planet that would be more suitable, but it would still not be the best.
