Atticus: Aw, yeah, kinda. I liked when Roxie picked me up and carried me while she was doing stuff. I got too heavy to pick up pretty fast, and now I just take up a lotta space. It's good for letting Topaz ride on me, I guess. Now, I carry someone else around.

well....... for a little while i did toy with the idea of setting burn away in a medieval or ancient time period.... so burn away but Extra Classical Fantasy lmao. not much was different except like, no tech and everybody wore more tunics fjdkghdfkjgf
I will say, you probably have the most visually appealing nuzlocke out there. Period. Would you say there's any part of your style and process you've consciously shifted as you've made Burn Away? Obviously there's a lot of improvement and speed that comes just from getting regular practice, but did you have any big "aha!" moments or changes you consciously made that really helped your process?

as for conscious style changes... well the most obvious one i think is the shift from black irises to colored between chapters 2 and 3, which i decided on to give more “life” and emotion to characters’ expressions.
highlights for character’s skin, hair, and (sometimes) clothing was another! it came about because i wanted to try bringing in some of the details from my painting/illustration style into my comic style. OwO
but aside from that, i cant think of intentional style changes that weren’t just part of growth and improvement from practice haha

Exqueeze me I just was doing a reread of the comic and but plz snooze explain why Coustohno's emotions on the page where Rho is looking at everyone's emotional aura is the same color and texture as the A N I M O S I T Y on the next page between Hedy and Anthea? I looked to see if anyone's mentioned this or you've answered it anywhere and I don't see it? Does this jerk really go around with that haircut thinking he can afford to go around and hate such cinnamon rolls?
aaah its not really meant to be the same color ;w; and in general there aren't hard and fast rules regarding aura colors and emotions! the auras are felt by psychics, not seen, so the colors are just meant to help portray that in a visual medium like a comic!
I love that little snippet of the champion battle you posted! Diggersby is really not who'd I'd think to peg as a champion mon. I forget if you've said this before, but was the previous champion and their team based on anything or inspired by another run or something?

the champion team isnt based off of another run or anything, but they are a South Province team that was trained by Hedy SO i decided to use exclusively pokemon you can find near Santalune City! (the full team is diggersby, vespiquen, talonflame, and raichu)
