Platypus are considered to be luxuriously soft and have one of the most densely layered coats in the animal kingdom. With their thick fur coat, Platypus are able to trap air within their fur to help keep themselves warm ✨️

Platypus are Bioluminescent and glow under Ultraviolet light. When exposed to UV lights, their fur will glow a bright teal while their skin shows to be a just as vibrant purple ✨️

Platypus bills are extremely sensitive! This is because they are covered top to bottom in about 40,000 electroreceptors dedicated to sensing the electrical currents caused by the animals swimming around them. Platypus use these electric fields as their form of touch while underwater ✨️

A Platypus's tail can be a big indicator of their health! Platypus store fat in their tails, which make up about 40% of their entire body weight. They also use their tails as paddles while swimming. The bigger the tail, the healthier the platypus ✨️

🐙 Octopus Fun Facts 🐙

An Octopus's body shifts through colors and textures while they sleep, scientists believe they can use this to tell what they are dreaming about 🐙

While most species of Octopus have a venomous bite, the Mimic Octopus is one of the few, if not the only, non-venemous members of its kind 🐙

To a degree, Octopus have 9 brains. The main brain is located inside their head and then 8 pseudo-brains, which are a cluster of nerves that form at the base of each tentacle. If the main brain is not controlling a specific tentacle, its pseudo-brain brain may take over and begin controlling it 🐙

An Octopus has 3 hearts! Their main heart, known as the Systematic heart, circulates blood throughout the body while the secondary hearts (AKA Branchial or Gill hearts) pump blood throughout their gills 🐙

Octopus blood is blue because it contains Copper instead of Iron 🐙

The suction cups of an octopus tend to have a strong grip, and handling one can result in gaining circular bruises on their skin. Marine Biologist will playfully refer to this as "Octopus Hickeys." Though for any unfortunate soul who gets attacked by an octopus, those suction cups will tend to leave behind near gashes instead of simple bruises 🐙

Fun Fact : An Octopus's can move independently if it doesn't receive a signal from the central brain. This is because an octopus has a cluster of nerves known as a pseudo-brain at the base of each tentacle that can deliver its own input when the central (aka : main) brain is not delivering any.

Now, I generally view Mimic as someone who became repulsed by touch, especially after betraying the Diamond Cutters since that's where we see him the most comfortable with it. Mimic makes his boundaries and personal space known. This wouldn't magically go away once he forms a liking to Starline. If anything, it would become more intense. Mimic doesn't want to touch Starline in an affectionate way because that would display vulnerability, so he makes it absolutely clear that there should be a physical distance.

But let's say Mimic was preoccupied with something, sharpening his daggers, explaining a strategy, could be anything, and Starline just happens to take one step to close and falls in reach of Mimic's extra limbs. Next thing the platypus knows, he is being wrapped up by one or more tentacles, crawling up his sleeve and inching him closer and closer to their source. Now, Starline is obviously not used to this kind of containment, so he is going to silently struggle to untangle himself as Mimic, obviously continues with whatever he's doing. Unfortunately, the momment Starline flinches to fast or makes a peep, Mimic is going to realize what he's been doing but instead of being honest and taking accountability, he snaps and blames Starline for getting to close.
