Kevin Navarro vs Kayck Alencar | INKA 49
Peru has established itself as one of the few Spanish-speaking South American countries that can consistently put their talent in big promotions. And by perhaps no gym is doing it better than Lima's Pitbull Martial Arts. The camp has sent guys like Enrique Barzola (TUF: LA 2 winner), Jesus Pinedo (2023 PFL Tournament winner), Claudio Puelles, and Kevin Borjas to the UFC, PFL, Bellator, and ACA. For coming from a country that is relatively new to the international scene, that's an incredibly impressive feat. Helps that their coach (Ivan Iberico) owns 'the' fight promotion in the country - INKA.
26 year old Kevin Navarro (11-0) is the latest up and comer in the camp. Navarro has been a killer on the Peruvian scene, racking up 11 straight wins by finish to start his pro career. It took him to the INKA Bantamweight title. Should he continue dominating the scene in Peru, it's only a matter of time (esp with his camp's connections) before an international promotion comes calling.
Navarro will defend his INKA BW title this Wednesday (Jan. 28) in the main event of Inka 53 on UFC Fight Pass. He'll be facing regional veteran Maycon Alcino (14-7-1).
