whenever i see calvin’s inflatable animals all i can think about is this.
Inflated Animals = Inflated Car Sales?
I’ve got a question for you -- Whenever you see a car dealership that has one of those big blue gorillas wearing boxer shorts, do you feel like you to stop inside, test drive a vehicle, and then leave the lot with a brand new car? I DIDN'T THINK SO!!! Obviously these people failed Advertsing 101.
Seriously, why do car dealerships even bother with the inflatables? Are they bringing in folks off the street? Is there some kind of weird psychological plot that all these car dealerships are involved in? Maybe they are trying to mess with our minds -- The big gorillas will come to life and tear you apart if you don't stop in!!!! Who knows?!?!? I just call it ineffective advertising and a waste of $$$.Â
Are you remember this video? The inflatable #animals are eat too much to move freely.Let's make a big lol to share it.

I need to get one of these.
(No, not the pink reindeer... I already have one of those...)
A Silly Xydexx Story
So years ago, when I did wild and crazy things like fill my apartment with inflatable animals, I was placing an order for more of them (20 small inflatable zebras and a giant 9' inflatable T-rex) to add to my menagerie and I needed to fax in my order form. This was back in the day when people actually used fax machines.
Except I didn't own a fax machine. But work did. So I decided to use that one on the sly. No problem.
A few hours later, a co-worker stopped by my cubicle and hands me a paper.
"Here's your receipt for your 20 inflatable zebras," she said.
"Um, er, uh..." I said.
"Sounds like some kind of party," she said as she left.
Heh. Yeah. Party...
It didn't occur to me the company would fax a receipt back to me. Oops.
There's an interesting epilogue to that story: When I went to pick them up in DC, I asked them if they made any bigger inflatable zebras. Like, y'know... life-size? They said they didn't.Â
SIx months later, life-size inflatable zebras are for sale on their website. Coincidence? -:)
