     The streets beneath his feet are hard, pavement rather than stone, unfamiliar rather than comforting. He grew up with the same stones beneath his body every day, and now he’s in a city that doesn’t know what it’s like to sleep on ancient bricks. He runs, drops his feet to the ground and pushes, tries to make his mind remember the feel of these streets so he can make it through them.                               Join the Avengers. Train. Help.      A run around New York city every morning. A sprint out to the countryside at night. Pushing himself in the house between, when the air in the Tower won’t come to his lungs and the only cure is to have his pulse beating with the rhythm of the city.                               Slow down. Rest. You’ve been through a lot. He couldn’t stop running, couldn’t stop moving, even when he returns to the Tower with sweat on his forehead and a dry ache in his throat. He fidgets as he drinks the water always waiting for him when he returns, practically making a stress run in the fresh carpet.      When the woman appears across the room from him, Pietro is moving fast enough for the the glass to slide back onto the counter before he swears and braces himself for whatever she plans.

“I’m sure you can spare a few,” Loki said, lips glistening with the delicious remains of what had once been a chocolate rabbit.

“Besides, isn’t this ‘Easter’ of yours months away from now?”

Vision had been feeling a pull for days now, a voice that was echoing with soundless nonsense that seemed to be pulling him through his days. A haunting that was there no matter where he turned, like a ghost stepping in his footprints. It was an odd feeling, and Vision wrote it off as nothing as he moved through the motions of his day. He knew so little about his mind still, and the sensation of the world around him; this feeling could be anything. This something made him want to travel though, to venture to space and float in the nothingness… to surround himself in nothingness. Still, he ignored it, pulled himself from day to day until there was no denying it anymore. The sun was just starting to set and Vision found himself flying over the coast, the stars building behind him slowly as he followed the pull south. He had no clue where he was going, but his feet were craving the ground and soon he was walking along the shore’s edge, oblivious to his surroundings.

Delta growled to no one, feeling restless. Others were sleeping and Alpha was gone, as usual, so she was bored. There was not even anything to hunt, they had already eaten.
