Two Readers, Two Schedules
There appears to be two slightly differing reading schedules available for reading David Foster Wallace’s Infinite Jest (IJ) this summer: the Infinite Summer 2015 Goodreads Group schedule, and the infinitesummer2015.org schedule. Both schedules conclude at the end of August, with the former beginning and ending a day later than the latter. The primary reason for this appears to be that the Goodreads Group has taken Mondays as the start of each week, while the infinitesummer2015.org crew appears to have scheduled Sundays as the first day of the week. The weekly reading amount is the same for both schedules and, apart from being a day off from one another due to differing start dates, the only other difference appears to be that the Goodreads schedule breaks the reading progress down further than weekly by including both Friday and Monday goals.
My wife is reading along with me -- something we have intended to do for some time, and I am excited to finally have the opportunity. We will likely make more progress during weekends, so I am electing to use the Goodreads Group’s Mondays schedule beginning tomorrow, June 1, 2015. My wife’s work prevents her from beginning until after both start dates, but she is a much faster reader than I, and will surely overtake me by the first week’s end irrespective of schedule.
