04. turns their back on the other to begin walking away without a word.
somehow... it's a little funny. it feels like corporal punishment. how he ends up in the very place he sought to destroy. how he ended up here.
he does remember dying. does remember the sensation of being a pincushion for not one but many varying blades of the people he'd wrong in the last arc of what should've been his story.
but.... he awoken. in the place that was long gone to him. at first, he thought he had been going crazy. gave himself a slap on the face. tried talking to some of the other workers while they raved on about him "day drinking again" in the face of his confusion.
but what really topped it off was a brief interaction with angela. nothing short from what he could recall of their past. her sharp gaze with a call out of his "carefree workflow" not cutting it. how the instinctual quip slips out. a sorry boss... i can't disappoint you much longer. but on the inside there's this level of shock. how she just shakes her head and turns to walk away.
he's left alone. standing in place watching the spot in which she had been. if this was not a punishment then it had to be his karma catching up to him. to face the very person, no... people he threw away in the face of his own ache.
even now. he is nowhere near a complete person. healed. none of it. all he has is his rage... and now, the added guilt of a secret no one will ever know.
