After the events of Harbinger Wars 2, Valiant will round out 2018 and delve into the new year with four new series for Valiant Beyond - Faith: Dreamside, Bloodshot: Rising Spirit, Livewire, and Incursion.
Faith: Dreamside hails from writer Jody Houser and artist MJ Kim. Faith âZephyrâ Herbert faces a foe that exists only in nightmares. To save her teammate Animalia, Faith will need some help from parapsychologist Dr. Mirage if she want to make it back with her subconscious mind still intact.
Faith: Dreamside #1, a limited series, releases September 2018.
Bloodshot: Rising Spirit comes from writers Lonnie Nadler and Zac Thompson and artist Ken Lashley.
The early days of Project Rising Spirit created the nanite-infused super soldier Bloodshot. It was up to one employee, the âMemory Weaverâ to ensure Bloodshot followed orders, but memory is a tricky thing.
Bloodshot: Rising Spirit #1, an ongoing series, hits shelves November 2018.
Livewire comes from writer Vita Ayala and artists RaĂşl AllĂŠn and Patricia MartĂn.
Amanda McKee, aka Livewire, once knew her purpose, but after the biggest disaster the country has faced - directly caused by her hand - Livewire must decided what kind of hero she will be. Or if she will be one at all.
Livewire # 1, a limited series, debuts December 2018.
Incursion hails from writer Andy Diggle and artist Doug Braithwaite
Deadside is where souls of the departed linger and terrors lie in wait to strike out in the dark. But Deadside isnât the only deadly dimension and another one belonging to an alien world is about to collide with Earthâs.
Incursion #1, a limited event series, hits shelves February 2019.

Expanding Opportunities for Inclusion through the Arts
Arts have played a role in creating opportunities for inclusion for Ananth for many years. Ananth has been learning Bharatanatyam for over ten years. Dance has played an important role in Ananthâs life because he needs the structured, consistent movement experience. Dance has also expanded opportunities for participating in community events as an observer and as a performer. The opportunitiesâŚ
Why You Need Diverse and Inclusive Content in Todayâs Economy
Why You Need Diverse and Inclusive Content in Todayâs Economy
As a brand, you need to be producing diverse and inclusive content. And no, I donât mean just slapping on a picture of a queer couple on a hero image and calling it good. I mean representing and writing to people of different backgrounds.Â
Itâs important. Itâs so important that the first time I saw a car commercial about two gay women I cried. Big, sloppy tears. I had never seen something thatâŚ
Well, looks like its been 3 years since Iâve been here. Nothing like keeping up to date eh?!
This is mostly down to taking a year away from music to focus on building some youth work skills, and also the prior pit fall of taking a 2 year regular music teaching post that unfortunately wasnât what was described and finding it difficult to make your way back out. But thatâs a lesson in freelancing and remembering that if somethings too good to be true, then it probably is!
That said, it wasnât without merit. I learnt more than I ever thought I could about young people with SEN/D, from disadvantaged backgrounds, inclusion, the power of youth voice and being generally inspired by the resilience, fortitude and creativity of our younger generations.
And here I now sit in a new post, specifically designed to improve the inclusion of SEN/D young people taking up music in Kent! Itâs terrifying, exciting and nerve-wracking all in one, but the potential here to make a difference to my home county is huge! So, the journey continues (as will this blog hopefully!) as I delve deep into SEN/D music making, assistive technology and continuing to be inspired by young people making music and being heard!

An educator's journey from believing self-contained settings were the only way for some students to supporting equity-based inclusion.
âI remember thinking some students simply needed the type of individualization and support that could only be provided in a more restrictive setting, like the self-contained setting to which I was assigned.... Then a group of students helped show me a third option and better way: equity-based inclusion... Â
Today, I support schools that are implementing that third option, equity based inclusion. We begin with the assumption that all students have the right to belong in their neighborhood schools, and it is our job to ensure they have the supports they need to be successful."
The United Nations Free and Equal Campaign exposes the price of LGBTQ exclusion.
We work every day to promote inclusion, understanding and respect. This week we opened application to our Trans Youth Mentorship Program. The program will help young trans people overcome barriers to accessing post-secondary education and employment.
With the support of staff and community mentors, young trans people will be given the chance to create and work toward education and/or employment goals, on their own terms, in a supportive space.
