As an obituary, it is obvious I am a big fan of the late Heath Ledger. Only 2 ½ hours after he was found dead, I was reading my mail and saw the title of Yahoo, saying it was dead. Admitttedly I thought it was a joke, others two hours later and I realized it was true. I had a lot of thinking, really. E 'was only a week ago when I was at the end of my own proverbial attack. I felt, I like to give up. I had relationship problems, family upheaval and terrible and really wanted to throw in the towel. I sat with unusual comfort of a glass of wine and cried in the bottom of it. Then I turned on the television and guess what was there? A Knight's Tale! So I looked for perhaps the fifth time. I laughed all the way through logs dry humor that he knew of moral outrage and personal. I cried when he went to see his father in Cheapside (obviously seeing him for the fifth time I knew that was going to be captured), and William Thatcher was not me, it was Heath Ledger, because that is how I had built up in him my mind. Sensitive, elegant and eloquent. Well, I turned off the TV after that, feeling quite a bit 'lighter in spirit. The irony is that in his robe, he reached out and helped me through a difficult time, but nobody knew that he could be in one place and not having A Knight's Tale to make him laugh, just a little 'in that crucial moment. Dear heavens had met someone? Well, all I can say now is that I did a huge favor and that the time of my life is one that will not easily forget. I just saddens me so much every time a talented young person takes their life and have no possibility to change it ... There are so many out there. They say you should emphasize that the work is involved if you want to be successful and long hours are sometimes necessary. The end of the 2005 NFL season has given us a good preview for 2006, but also left us with some lingering questions about some of the quarterbacks like Carson Palmer, Donovan McNabb, Trent Green, and Brett Favre. This next season will be an interesting one to watch, with some QBS young people looking to get out, and some legends apparently trying to head out. First of all, in fantasy football you always want to draft a stud RB in the first round. Later, however, you will definitely want a quarterback to score and do not turn the ball over. These are the best shooters in the draft for 2006. 1. Peyton Manning - Indianapolis - Some say he was a year in 2005, but in reality still had a great fantasy season. Fantasy players have been spoiled by Manning after his record setting 2004 season in which he threw 49 touchdowns. In 2005, he still threw for a league second best 28 touchdowns, which is quite solid. The Colts will reportedly step down and let Reggie Wayne running back Edgerrin James test the waters of free will, so I expect Manning to 'bounce' in 2005 and let him go back to somewhere around 30-35 TDS. Must lead the Colts in 2006, then anything is possible. It seems that in the field, nothing is impossible for Peyton. Apart from winning the Big One. 2. Carson Palmer - Cincinnati - Palmer led the league in touchdowns with 32, but left us all wondering about 2006 after his knee was blown out of the postseason in 2005. This is the main concern. I think Palmer will rebound and resume its role from 2 weeks at the latest. He is young and determined and has a promising future. 2005 was only his second season starting and looked like a veteran of 10 years in the field. He has a talented offense around him and a great coaching staff to go with it. The thing you need to watch and control is his recovery, which is the key. But if Palmer is healthy by the start of the season, I think we have the right back into the groove and produce solid numbers once again in 2006. 3. Tom Brady - New England - Brady led the league in passing yardage in 2005 and threw for a solid 26 touchdowns. Corey Dillon has been plagued with injuries all season and is aging and will continue to power the load for Brady on his back, which is great for fantasy owners. He is a great leader and has thrown for over 3600 yards and 20 TD + each of his last four seasons. He skip the Pro Bowl because of sports hernia, but they provide is healthy for the start of the 2006 season, is a solid choice for QB. 4. Ben Roethlisberger - Pittsburgh - do not put up great fantasy numbers in 2005, but I expect him to have a debut season in 2006. He has the offense around him to do it, and has the experience behind them to take part in NFL defenses. His receivers are fast, talented, and make plays, and Heath Miller is going to be a great tight end for a very long time. It 's too early to tell, but you have to look at the running back situation. If Jerome Bettis retired, I would move the Big Ben down the ladder a little bit. I just do not think Willie Parker can be a full-time starter. In addition to this, Ben is a smart QB who will get the job done. 5. Matt Hasselbeck - Seattle-I was pleasantly surprised with Hasselbeck in 2005. He led an offense that was second only to Seattle, Kansas City, and seemed very confident and poised throughout the season, that was the difference maker in 2005. He threw for over 3000 yards and 20 touchdowns in each of his last three seasons, and I expect him to produce the same results in 2006. The only thing you have to look at is whether or not Shaun Alexander back to Seattle. If he goes, then it certainly hurts the value Hasselbecks. 6. Donovan McNabb - Philadelphia-Losing hurts Terrell Owens McNabbs much value. This offseason will be crucial. If Owens is traded for another top notch WR or trades for a Philly, McNabb then looks again to be a good choice. But if Philly doesn't make moves that'll be a bit 'worried. McNabb is a great leader and a fine QB, but his numbers were significantly lower when I wasn't around. I think it will still put up solid numbers with or without it, but need to do anything help.7 Philly. Eli Manning - New York Giants-rap Mannings with the fans took a fall in the postseason, but in the regular season has some pretty solid numbers. He finished 5th in the NFL with 3,762 yards and tied for 4th with 24 touchdowns. His leadership skills have affected me, but it has a good team around him and two great players to help carry the load in Plaxico Burress and Tiki Barber. He needs to make better decisions and reduce turnover in 2006 (9 fumbles, 17 INT), but I think these numbers will drop in 2006, and his yardage and TDS will up.8. Marc Bulger - St. Louis - Bulger was limited and his season interrupted by injuries in 2005 but has started great. Steven Jackson will share the load with Bulger in 2006, but if he can stay healthy there should be no reason why shouldn't put up solid numbers. Torry Holt is still a stud WR and St. Louis has some money fast, young as well. I like the offensive line St. Louis' well, so I think Bulger will have an impact in 2006. 9. Drew Brees - San Diego - His shoulder injury, as well as Phillip Rivers lingering just below him on the depth chart makes me think about 2006. His numbers dropped a bit 'in 2005 but was still a top 10 QB. He has a great offense around him that makes him definitely a good choice. Ladainian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates will make life easy for Brees once again in 2006 if he can get healthy. You have to look at his injury situation, and if San Diego is a craft that he or Phillip Rivers.10. Jake Delhomme - Carolina - Delhomme is constantly overlooked and underrated as a QB. It has the best receiver Steve Smith in the game, and even if it doesn't throw them a lot, the rest of his WRS are solid. The main question I have with Carolina is his current game. Deshaun Foster and Stephen Davis made a life in relation to the injury, and I'm not sold on them. Until we get a solid RB, number Delhommes could see a slight decrease as the teams begin to learn to cover Smith in 2006. These are my top choices for the QBS in 2006. QBS There are other numbers out there that provide decent if you can not manage to get any of these guys.Michael Vick - Atlanta - has yet to demonstrate that it can be a real QB, but he continues to get decent numbers, providing he doesn't turn the ball over Kurt Warner -. Arizona - You might be surprised to see his name here, but two of the best WR in football to throw to and constantly puts up 300 + yards. The main concerns are its duration and Warner nonexisitent Arizonas running game. The running game I think will be better in 2006, but injuries are unpredictable Jake Plummer -. Denver - Plummer put up decent numbers in 2005, without turning the ball that much, but they were nothing shocking, and Denver is still a run first offense with Shanahan calling the shots Trent Green -. Kansas City - Threw for a season in second place with 4,014 yards but only 17 touchdowns. There are some problems I have with Green in 2006. Al Saunders has left for Washington, and Green is now 35. The good news is teams load up to stop Larry Johnson, who will produce decent Byron toll Leftwhich -. Jacksonville - It 's been the pace to have the best season of his career but again the injury bug hit him. If he can stay healthy for the whole season I think he would do very well, but until he does that is worth a late round choice at best. There are some other names out there, but have yet to demonstrate their abilities QBS theyre good imagination. Names like Harrington, Frerotte, Carr, Grossman, etc. ... Until they improve, however, keep them on the bench if you do end up drawing them up.
