    I’m going to break this down little by little because I’d like to take a crack at the Mod Doomeddirk style of responding to asks. Like Momma like son.

    Yes, we did get hate over incest relationships; mainly from a 13 year old who saw us on the HSkin tag and without reading our links, came in and pried at us. I wouldn’t say it was full on hate from what I saw, but specifically commenting on the post “gross” was, ironically, gross. If there was another ask I did not see it because Mod Doomeddirk deleted it and I blocked the sender.

    Now; the timeline. You are NOT wrong for loving him, you are not wrong AT ALL. It was an experience you went through that was not negative nor was it abusive; you were moving on, you were simply falling for someone who made you feel like the world and helped you with your darkest times. This is human, this is not wrong.

    You shouldn’t feel like shit for looking for him. The community has grabbed onto these timelines with toxic claws, acting as if your past life no longer matters and neither does finding him now, that you are a “Bad person.” You are not shit. The community is. When D found out he had a timeline where he had feelings for Bro that weren’t simply platonic, there was a solid week where he was terrified of every sharing this timeline and frequently had panic attacks to the point of clawing at his face in “punishment”. The community is convincing people such as you and D that you are at lower levels for wanting love back. For wanting that happiness back. You. Are. Not. Shit.

    That is one of the reasons this blog is set up, Dave, this is a safe space. This is the misfit zone where those with problematic/dark/edgy [although Edgy is moreso @edgyhomestuckkin, please go follow them for the record] kins and timelines that are rejected and attacked for something they could not control/something set up to help them cope.

    If you’d like to send out a canoncall for Dirk, please send one in! You deserve to find him. Everyone deserves to find their friends and family again, “gross” or not.

In my mind, it was a past life, right? So, in this life, any of the feelings that pass over are sort of... reset. Yeah, he’s your Dirk, but in this life, he’s not Dirk anymore. He’s a new, biologically different individual, but he’s someone you have past positive connotations with. So wanting to seek him out? Makes perfect sense, and is perfectly okay. You’re not seeking him out because “he’s my bro who I had a relationship with” (which would imply you’re only looking for him for the incest thing), you’re seeking him out because “he’s a person I loved who helped me recover from a very traumatic experience” (which implies you’re looking for him because of strong, positive emotional reasons). It’s a case of looking for him for the right reasons. Especially since he helped you with trauma. Like, wanting to find someone you associate with healing and love makes so, so much sense - your brain already thinks of them as someone safe, someone calming, someone you can trust and who will look after you - regardless of your relationship with them or relation to them. So long as, like, you’re trying to find him because of that, I think it’s okay.

You just need to look at incest now and say “okay, so this is a negative thing with negative connotations I wouldn’t engage with in this life, but things were different then, and we’re different people now, so we can build either a stable, sound friendship, or a relationship on even better, healthier, and more equal grounds than before”. You know?

i pray they at least edit out the skeevy-ass lines underage chars can have in my room--while a lot of chars are ambiguous young adults, chars like the little sisters, midoriko, and lutz are 100% obviously barely-pubescent, so get that shit outta my face.  ideally, i would actually love supports that tone down things like camilla’s obsession w/kamui in favor of letting her be protective and motherly towards her whole family (which can be done w/o painting over her legitimately interesting issues w/needing to be needed) or shifting eponine’s unnecessary, character-gutting gimmick towards her reading maudlin slash novels instead of shipping real people.  the only way i’d be satisfied w/larger problems is if they straight-up cut sibling s supports as well as all soleil’s male s supports, but lbr that’s not going to happen and it doesn’t change the absolute reprehensible shit that’s in the original text.
