Art fight attack against @inbarfink's Dream Witch! (which I thematically drew right before going to sleep, lol)
A ton of artfight attacks!

One really underrated thing about the Lily Orchad thread I don't see a lot of people talk about is how... inconsistent it is in terms of it's intended target auidence. Like, at first glance it seems to be (like you said) targeting indie aspiring book writers but then you've got advice that seems, like, spesifically about fanfiction and THEN you've got one that's about showrunning a cartoon?? Who is this for??
yeah a huge issue with the advice is that it seems to be targeting no one in particular and stuff like “low stakes personal conflict is always better” is just total nonsense in a general sense. the real answer is most of them are just thinly veiled jabs at various tv shows, books, movies, etc the OP doesn’t like, ala “don’t ever have a story from a single point of view” (which is obviously meant to be a critique of steven universe and applies to literally nothing else, but anyone who didn’t know that would think of something like a first person novel and it’d just come off as a really wild statement)

Oh, necessary for Anthy-having-a-giggle’s sake, just not for the sword’s sake :p
That sounds like it has about an equal chance of being horrifying or incredibly delicious, thank you for the info.
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. His comment about keyless cars rusting over reminds me of the eternal nature of the school and its endless youth; you just kind of collapse in on yourself if you can’t move.
Game Theory: Being turned to stone by Mewtwo and than resurrected via the magic of Pokemon Tears is what turned ordinary child Ash Ketchum into an unaging mutated eternal being.
This has been my HC for a long time! The idea of everyone else ageing normally but Ash specifically staying as a 10 yr old forever is very hilarious to meÂ
Reverse Unpopular Opinion: Pokemon
When it comes to regions, I think Galar is one of the most developed when it comes to comparing it to its RL counterpart.Â
(I suppose it helps that a literal English guy was on the team)
Particularly when it comes to Britain’s history, which gets reflected through its PokĂ©mon. Galarian Meowth and Perrserker were introduced to the region by PokĂ©Vikings, Falinks is implied to have a link to PokĂ©Rome despite the pun coming from the Greek phlanx, you have Gigantamax Toxtricity being the PokĂ©mon on the Totally Not Uffington White Horse Turffield hill figure, literal Stonehenge mon Stonjourner, Cufant being implied to originally come from PokĂ©India (Though let’s hope that happened in the PokĂ©verse without the imperialism) the list goes on.Â
The subtle joke of the Fairy-type Gym being in Ballonlea, which is based on Shakepeare’s birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon.Â
ie. A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Also advances on the models, like Scorbunny being able to run in place when they couldn’t do that before.Â
(Honestly I’m kinda surprised no one really talked about that, but I guess it got drowned out by Dexit, though everyone talks about how sick Cinderace’s animation for Pyro Ball is. In general the models for Gen VIII Pokémon are livelier than in previous Gens, though it’s subtler than the Gen V sprites)
And Galarian Rapidash has this really cool glowing effect that unfortunately you can only see in its attacking animations.Â
I love the pun in the Applin Line being worms that are wyrms inside apples.Â
Toxel’s the first proper baby PokĂ©mon we’ve had in years, etc.Â
