Outlaw Scot and the Stolen Bride
When I was a little girl we had a standard lamp in the living room. It looked like you think it would - a cone shaped lampshade on a tall stand. It was yellow, I remember, and trimmed with these tassels. Keep this in mind when I tell you that I can't quite take the hero here seriously, because his armband, ruched for her pleasure no doubt, has the exact same shaped tassel as the lamp.
At first I thought that the lady here was showing solidarity for the shirtless hero whilst still covering her sinful lady nipples, but what I think actually happened is that the top of her shirt was used to make her extremely voluminous sleeves. As someone who has worn extremely voluminous sleeves, trying to get anything practical done is an absolute nightmare, so it's no wonder she's looking a little coy and/or seductive. She needs someone to help her do the washing up.
Sabrina de Montfortโs dream has come trueโthe man she fell in love with years ago has finally returned. Her dreams quickly shatter as Ramsey Munro, the wild boy her uncle took in as a boy, acts as though he does not know her. Worse yet, itโs rumoured that he plans to take another for his bride! When an opportunistic suitor takes advantage and Sabrina is kidnapped, every muscle in Ramseyโs body screams for action. Heโs loved the green-eyed beauty from the moment they met, but knows a life in the wilds of the Scotland is no place for a gentle creature like Sabrina. Can he free her from the claws of Lord Archer? If he does, will he be able to set her freeโฆor will the Outlaw Scot take a Stolen Bride all the way back to the Highlands?
"The wild boy her uncle took in as a boy" seems like a tautology, but you have to understand that Ramsey here is Scottish. There's a good chance that Uncle Sabrina's Uncle mistook him for a particularly large and lost haggis.
Everybody knows that the Wilds of Scotland are particularly lethal for gentle creatures. That's why there's so many warning signs up the A1 and M6 - "WARNING!" they all cry, "YE APPROACH NEAR TO SCOTLAND! THERE IS NO PLACE HERE FOR GENTLE CREATURES!" On the border you have to prove your hardiness otherwise you're turned away, for your own well-being. Closing your eyes and not cutting your nose off with an axe, walking in a straight line whilst werewolves lunge at you, and reciting the alphabet backwards whilst enduring simulated hailstones and fog are all amongst tests that must be endured. The only exception is if you're being abducted. If you're being abducted by a Highlander then you're going to prove hardy enough, regardless of how wimpy you appear. It will become especially clear after realising that the wild man who took you to Scotland has hidden desires, a ruthless exterior hiding a warm, deeply hurt heart, and is really good in bed.
I like that it's every muscle in Ramsey's body screaming for action, rather than, say, his strict moral compass or even his keen understanding of how the law works.
I have to say, I do like that nowhere in the synopsis does it imply that Ramsey has anything less than genuine love for Sabrina and there's no "yearning", "straining", or anyone's body "crying out for sweet release", usually involving the other body.
