#impotent anger

So this is one of my biggest pet peeves. Ridiculous lobbying efforts stalling progress. Companies that make certain roofing materials successfully lobbied to reverse a law passed in Tennessee which mandated using reflective roofing materials which cools temperatures. It is the type of well-reasoned progress we need to make to fight climate change. It isn’t going to save the world on its own but it helps every building and makes a difference. But it is being fought tooth and nail. I get so frustrated.

The two worst examples for me are rubber manufacturers fighting urban trolleys and other public transportation so that they can sell more rubber to tire companies to private cars

And the private prison guard lobby fighting hard to increase mandatory prison sentences across the board so there would be more prisoners in private prisons which would provide job security to private prison guards. Get a different job!!!!
