#10- Nostalgia

"I've been called many things. Nostalgic isn't one of them"

"Tony," she says in a voice that means she's been trying to get his attention for a while, "Tony I need a name"

"Morgan," he replies without thinking, "after your eccentric uncle"

She snaps perfectly manicured fingers in front of him and he looks up, resting his chin on enclasped knuckles

She's waving paperwork and looking down at him with a familiar mixture of exasperation and fondness, "You want to name the foundation you spent months hounding me to set up after my uncle?"

"Oh," he says,put out, "I thought you were asking me for names for the baby"

"What baby?"

Tony squints, "Aren't you pregnant?"

Pepper just raises a single eyebrow, "I'm going to let that go because I'm assuming you're sleep-deprived"

"Now, the foundation"

He flips through the paperwork, singing softly

try to remember the kind of September, when life was slow and oh so mellow

He sits up abruptly, holding out the paperwork, "Call it the September Foundation," he says as he's walking out

He waits just long enough to hear her assent before making his way down to the workshop, where FRIDAY is putting together the final pieces of code

He slips on the BARF glasses, and takes a deep breath; before opening his eyes and letting the memory unfold around him

Tony:...Peter! What do you think I should get Pepper for her birthday?

Peter: How ‘bout a dog? I bet she’d like a dog!

Tony: No, Pete. I need to get her something practical, that she actually wants.

Peter:...How ‘bout a dog? I bet she’d like a dog!

Pepper accepted the cup of tea from Molly, who sat down across from her.  “I’m sorry we couldn’t help you find your friend, dear…but I think we’d have noticed a flying metal man if he crash-landed nearby…”  

“I dunno, Mum.  You could have just written it off as Fred or George…” Ginny said, sliding into a seat on the other side of her mother.  

Pepper noted the surplus of red hair seated around the table.  She felt right at home here.    

“Fred and George have no use for a flying metal man…”  

“Fred and George have no use for a lot of things, but they still make them…” Ginny said with a sniff.

She's a superhero's girlfriend, sure. But unlike most superhero love interests these days (or ever, actually), Pepper has a role besides "the girlfriend."

Without Pepper, Tony would have gotten himself killed long ago or be a complete mess. (er, even more of a mess then usual)

In addition to being Tony's girlfriend, she practically babysits him because he's a petulant and self-centered man-child.

If you think Pepper wasn't cool until Iron Man 3, I suggest you watch the first two movies again because she gets shit done, yo.

She's badass and she's also really cute and adorable and got all freaked out in IM3 because she got all violent aww Pepper baby i love you.

She takes no shit from Tony.

She takes no shit from people in general.

Stylish, classy babe hello.

Her hair is like beautiful golden-orange woven sunshine.

She's Basically in charge of Stark Industries and somehow hasn't snapped from all the stress.

She wore the Iron Man suit and saved Tony's life a couple times like wow you go Pepper.

In conclusion, Pepper Potts is pretty much perfect.
