“And then what happened?”

It had been a regular day --- Donna had woken up (begrudgingly), spent an hour loitering about the house drinking coffee before she headed off to work.  She had established a solid routine.  One that she liked.

(okay, occasionally she was bored out of her skull but she refused to fully acknowledge that truth)

After work, Donna popped into a shop to reward herself for not telling off that numpty that had screwed up her computer system with a few key strokes.  She had spent a better part of the afternoon fixing it and therefore saving payroll.  She should be heralded as a hero.  Instead she barely got a wave as she rushed out.  

That deserved a bit of chocolate.

She was stuffing it in her face when she saw him.  A familiar face (familiar in that this was not the first time she had caught him loitering about).  She frowned a little, finding it strange that she should see him again.  Handsome men didn’t just cross her path time and time again.

She got a block before glancing over her shoulder once more.  Still there.  For a moment her heart beat double time and then she was stopping short.  Cursing herself.  

Donna Noble did not run away.

Turning on her heels, she marched up to him.  “Oi, you! What is the meaning of this?  You some kind of nutter weirdo?”

It was one of those spare moments when the Captain had the Hub to himself and even an anomalous moment that the former con man would sing: 

“Birds flying high...You know how I feel...Sun in the sky...You know how I feel...”

      Khan turns his head when he hears someone address him, dragging him from his thoughts, and he blinks once before his gaze lands on the man wearing an expectant expression. 

“I can’t.” Rose protested, her eyes wide with panic as she tried to look over Jack’s shoulder. She was terrified she would see those creatures again. Her heart was racing, and she felt like her lungs couldn’t take in air fast enough.

 It wasn’t often that she couldn’t handle whatever kind of alien threat they came across, but this one had obviously gotten the better of her. 

he’s…..caught OFF-GUARD to say the least. but….oddly, he does NOT mind it one single bit.
