He expects to feel some sort of heat from the granite, some sort of feedback, but there's only cold, wet stone. Guilt sits solid as ice in his stomach. He can't feel his hands. He can barely remember how he got here from the funeral. He's pretty sure he walked, but he'll never be able to recall the route.
