MODEROID Imber (IDOLM@STER Xenoglossia)

They made a model kit of my second favorite IDOLM@STER character! I actually watched the first half of Xenoglossia years ago, and it's... weird. Like, you have this wide cast of idol characters. What are we gonna do for their first anime? How about we have them pilot giant robots and smash asteroids and there's a ton of in-fighting. That's what the fans want!

...I only watched the first half. It got real angsty in the second, and it wasn't my thing. Still, Imber's a cool design, which is why I grabbed it.

The Good: Despite the weird proportions, Imber is pretty solid. While that waist has a transparent bracer, it isn't needed to hold it up. Its posability is pretty good, and its arms even slide along the back like they do in the show. It also comes with multiple chest pieces as the color did change throughout the story. (I went with pink.) And it has two sets of punching arms, along with the ability to turn into its transport mode with the use of a few adapters.

The Bad: While it is mostly solid, that gangliness does come with its share of looseness in places like the shoulder armor. The feet are also bad, requiring a stand to get in any good poses.

The Details: Just panel lining and painting the eyes. There isn't a lot of surface detail, but bringing out what's there does add a lot.

Overall, it's a decent kit, which is an accomplishment considering it's a tough design to get right. Also, if you were curious, my actual favorite character is Shizuku. I like cows.
