A few days ago, I stumbled upon a headline saying that the internet is berating the actress for an ad made to sel denim into a whole Nazi conspiracy.

It’s one thing to hate on an actress (well…), it’s another thing to misconstrue an advertisement into something that’s deliberately/strongly hurtful; they’re continuing to sew in more conspiracies about the actress.

It’s also coming to my senses that we (more mature/older generations) are gradually questioning why does the internet hate this actress so much- this is foul. "What can start out as a legitimate grievance becomes something else altogether—an internet event, an attention spectacle. This is not a process for sense-making; it is a process for making people feel upset at scale." (Warzel, The Atlantic). Link

The advertisement was also supposed to be a callback to another ad; Calvin Klein; the one with Brooke Shields.

This also gives a likelihood that the accounts that were a part of it might also practice fake activism; it makes me wonder if they’ve ever voted for the state primaries, this year.
