everything is either a Sauce or a Juice. in this essay a Sauce is to be a substance, need not be liquid, that is added to another substance to improve it. conversely a Juice is a substance that is removed from another.

lets now discuss an example Sauce: ketchup. its a Sauce for french fries or a hamburger. one adds it to the fries or burger to improve it, thus it becomes a french fry Sauce, or a hamburger Sauce. There are more abstract Sauces, for example air, is an aerobic lifeform Sauce. for now lets use a goat as the lifeform. Oxygen is added, or otherwise introduced, to the goat, and helps maintain its life and improves the goat at which point it becomes goat Sauce.

Now we shall discuss a Juice: orange juice. This one is rather obvious, you squeeze the orange untill the liquid inside is extraced from the fruit. Another orange Juice is orange zest. the zest is peeled off the skin, an extraction that makes zest an orange Juice. i use the word "an" because "orange Juice" refers to any product extracted from an orange, which does not need to be a traditional "juice". an abstract Juice would be wool. Wool is sheared, extracted, from the sheep thus becoming the product of the sheep and therefor a sheep Juice.

an obvious fault of this dichotomy is that some things can be both Sauces and Juices. our example of ketchup, is a tomato Juice, and its also a fry Sauce. the distuguishing factor being the time and frame of reference. ketchup, while being manufactured, is not yet a Sauce. it has not been added to anything to improve it. but at that point is a tomato Juice. an orange Juice, such as orange juice, usually becomes a Sauce as well. ie, its added to the drinker to improve them.
