A whole lot of negative language…

Once upon all the time since the beginning of man’s history; or at least up until the time recorded in his memory, there was a carrot, dangling in front of him.  

This carrot was however not a very conventional one. It was not orange, it did not grow in the earth and it did not satisfy hunger at all; another characteristic of this carrot is that it changed shapes, constantly, deviously.

The donkey constantly ran behind the everchanging carrot: first the carrot appeared as that particular toy, then that girlfriend, that school, that career, that place, that car, that woman, that man, that pair of shoes, that house, that dress, that phone, that computer, that smart investment, fun, family life, vices, drugs, spirituality, peace, God, friends, beauty, relationships, junk food, health food,  thrill, tranquility, movement, rest, recognition, money, fame, anonymity, privacy, simple things.

But who is the donkey chasing the carrot?

Man?

And who is the one holding the carrot in front of the donkey?

Again man?
