Various “Electronic Music” LP. About 8 years ago I bought a 3000 piece record collection from this old guy who thought he’d be able to strike it rich by hoarding vinyl from estate sales and Goodwills, even though he wasn’t computer literate or much of a music lover. I ended up giving him $500 for the lot and it took me the better part of a month of stopping at his house after work to fill up my tiny Toyota Yaris with vinyl to move the collection. One of the collecions he’d bought at an estate sale was this old audiophile named Earl Kvam’s collection, which constituted about a third of the overall lot I bought. Earl started collecting in the early 50’s and had a little bit of everything, though mainly really good classical. He was married but had no kids. I garnered this info from notes on the back of his records and creeping his obituary. He also had a peculiar numerical system for which he stored his records. Aside from marring jackets he never intended to sell, the vinyl was in great condition. On albums of Earl’s I knew I’d be keeping for myself, I’d experiment on removing marker. Sometimes successfully and other times I’d end up with this. This was an acetone experiment gone awry. Works great on glossy covers (still gotta be careful though) and not so well on standard cardboard jackets. Anyhow, this avant-garde electronic album is fascinating and still cheap to pick up and worth a listen. I’m partial to side 2. #LP #Vinyl #Records #VariousArtists #ElectronicMusic #AvantGarde #AndresLewinRichter #IlhanMimaroglu #TzviAvni #WalterCarlos #WendyCarlos
