just thinking about how, when whitlock was slowly turning into ildan bc of the penance malediction, in our one-on-one prep convos for those sessions, i told joyce, "oh btw, ildan exclusively uses he/him pronouns for z'ress, only pronounces z'ress with the 'tapped' r sound, and pronounces his own name eel-don, not ill-don" which was met with surprise, because while these are things that have consistently been true about these npcs, they obviously aren't something my players are likely to notice lmao. similarly with z'ress: they pronounce their own name differently depending on whether he's trying to emphasis his drow-ness or not. (usually, around non-drow, he doesn't tap the 'r'). and same with ill-don vs eel-don; when speaking to drow, z'ress will say 'eel' but often around non-drow they say 'ill.' all of the people who knew z'ress from his pirate days use "he/him" for him, including arrah. etc etc. and this is what i mean when i say i'm insane lmaooo
