i just spent like 2 or 3 hours going through the tecs wiki and the find carmen website. ive been through it before, but actually sitting down and reading everything, is a whole other experience. the lore is fucking expansive as shit, and its very cool to see.
i often see witwics/woeics/cs writers reference it, but going through made me understand some peoples au's a whole lot better, and its just cool to see the story expanded on, especially as it seems to be multiple carmen products put together (aka suhara and lynchpin), and placed into our real world (they used the C.H.I.E.F as a voice actor in "children cartoons that take place underwater" lol)
ive been a fan of cs for years, but for some reason these two websites just took the backburner, but after this, im considering writing a little bit about the wiki and the lore there, as theres lots of food for thought. for example, acme trying to achieve a "genius class of detectives" or, the Accolade building? (and someone or something called dragon? idk, they were mentioned in a google doc), and the whole ACME framework.
Also, from my understanding, the wiki's timeline goes up to 2016, and i have not seen or read further expansion from that point. I know its technically RP, but so many cs fans ive spoken to reference it, so i consider it like... general fanon? i guess? However, it could be that im just stupid, or theres something im missing, since its (pretty much) my first time reading everything through. Not sure who started it, or wrote most of the info, but damn id love to see it continued. Might make that a project of mine or something (hopefully im not intruding lol)
i think CS has many great writers and world builders, from here, on tumblr, to ff. net, ao3, neocities, findcarmen, facebook, and beyond. it literally doesnt end, and i guess ive gained a deeper appreciation for all of them, through going through find carmen and TECS. i havent posted much writing about CS, but i have alot in my drafts (and mind), and i guess reading through these two sites has given me major inspiration, so hopefully, ill find the time to edit my shit, and post it soon.

whilst watching woeics, i often get the feeling sometimes that ivy and carmen really want to talk to each other about like... stuff. its just a thing, usually a scene, that sort of happens and then quickly is moved past. S2E2 "All For One" has this weird scene at the end, where ivy walks into a part of the colosseum (mightve remembered that incorrectly icl), and she bumps into carmen and sort of goes into this tiny monologue about losing and stuff.
talking about some "i know what its like to lose", and "nobody wants to be a loser" (paraphrasing here), it feels weirdly personal, and very much the wrong time to be talking about this in the middle of an active pursuit lol. they literally just stop, and talk. of course, the police interrupt and the conversation fizzles, but i dunno. i always got the impression there was something that needed to be said. in the back of my mind, i think about how in the first episode, ivy spoke about "having a grudge to settle", and i swear (though i cant find the scene*), ivy mentions having some sort of training with carmen prior to the show. besides the whole betrayal of her turning into a criminal, i wonder what else happened between them. i wonder if any of this stuff was intentional, since it really is unlike most other scenes, just like in this scene i spoke about in a post a while back.
other times i feel like the same sort of thing is happening is "Good old, bad old days", where carmen offers ivy the drink, and ivy is slightly taken back by this, but does actually take it. Or maybe (and this is a tiny reach), "Trick or treat"? where zack walks in on the two of them circling each other? (i think its highly likely this was put there to convey how ivy and carmen had swapped clothes but zack wouldn't've noticed that in the brief moment he looked). idk.
thinking about how carmen was never adopted, like they just swooped her from the golden girls place and just let her be.
i wonder if even whilst in acme (because she left roughly 18 if im correct), she was still eligible to be adopted, if she met possible carers, parents. Did she want them? Did they even want her? i mean who wouldnt want to take in a prodigy right?
The agents (Ivy in particular, if i remember) always say stuff about how she had a family or something - but honestly, its a fucking government agency. Its not a proper family. Its a family unit, i guess... sometimes? Suhara as her father figure, Chief as her zany ass uncle but i cant help but feel they suppressed the chances of finding something concrete. Not trying to say their connections dont matter, but still. I dont know if that makes sense.
i wonder what that environment did to someone like her. I mean we have some sort of idea, shes literally a criminal now. but within her mind. Not to be a nerd, but i think back to Bowlbys 44 thieves study, and theory of maternal deprivation. How those kids had signs of affectionless psychopathy if they went through some sort of maternal deprivation in their infancy.
