It was the rain pounding against the windows that gave her the worst headache of all. Usually, the sound soothed her, brought her memories of walks through forests with the smell of sodden earth filling her nose as fingertips grazed smooth, flat leaves dripping with dew. Today it made her temples throb with each drop that hit the window pane. So aggravated was her head, in fact, that she was hardly able to distinguish the storm’s insistent battering from the pounding of a visitor’s hand at her door.
His view would be that of a petite girl, just over five feet and wrapped in a pink bathrobe. Chestnut locks fell over one shoulder in a loose braid, and large blue eyes looked up at the one who would disturb a Sunday’s peace. Visitors often meant trouble for her, or work--which meant going to the trouble of helping someone. She was not at all in the mood for either, and yet...
An affinity for fair haired and blue eyed gentlemen was a poison she’d yet to find remedy for. She swallowed words of acid, and instead some sort of greeting found its way to her tongue.
“Evening, sir. Awfully strange hour to be paying visits. Something amiss?”

❝ Would you HOLD STILL for two goddamn seconds? How am I supposed to get a reading when you keep fidgeting. ❞
----For fuck’s sake, it’s like working with a toddler. Well, isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black.
