Somehow the 'elf' did not hear this one coming down those steps, and he turned towards them with grey-blue eyes locked with theirs. A short moment passed with him considering on if he should react with violence, but quieted that thought and smiled instead. It was a warm, gentle smile that almost reached his eyes.
"Oh, do forgive me." A half, respectful bow has given to her, and he seemed to be so embarrassed with being caught as he had been. "It was wrong of me to look into one's home, and not introduce myself first... I am Annatar, Lord of Gifts, and found myself wandering too far from the main road."

"Annatar..." She repeated. "What brings you out so far into the woods? It isn't often I see anybody out here. Least of all an elf." Her eyes flickered to the pointed ears that poked through his curls. Rosemary seemed a bit wary, not that she suspected the man was necessarily here to kill her. Yet she wondered, had it been his intention to break into her house? Or perhaps he had come for the reason most people sought her out. She would wait and see what he said before saying any more.

Starter for Yune | Muse: Annatar
The Lord of Gifts walked among the trees in the twilight hour, where purple and pink hues marred the sky in blotches that mixed with the white-grey clouds. There was a presence that pulled him away from his travels, and he came upon a cottage so far from the road, deep into the forest nearest the mountain's base.
Curiosity took him, which was always a slight issue of his that he'd never address. Regardless, he must recenter his thoughts, and focus on what was before him. This was so far from the nearest place of civilization, this comfy little cottage, with it's crackling fire illuminating the inside from the fireplace. A shape was seen, and he neared the window to gaze in at the one who currently resided in it.

A slight figure, hard to see in the dimly lit cottage, was rushing to and fro. It wasn't clear exactly they were doing, but it seemed important. Soon the movement subsided, as if this home's inhabitant had finally settled down. The creaking of the front door said otherwise.
"What are you doing out here, sir?" A petite woman took a few steps down the stone stairs to peek over at the man looking through her window.

"................. No...." A single slam of the staff in his hand was heard. It's loud noise echoed in the chamber, and a light tugging was on one of her arms; violet magic had restrained her limb. The Lord of this castle stood finally from the massive throne of bones and stones to descend down the steps and pausing once he was close enough to her person. There was annoyance burning in his dark gaze, and he glared. "You will not leave, until I have decided - have willed your departure."
A pause, and he attempted to reign in that anger which was nearly boiling over, and tried to put on that fake-calming demeanor. "Ah, but where are my manners... I know of your name, but you not of mine!" For dramatics, he gestured with one hand to his chest, and the other extending the staff out by his side. "You may call me Lord Skeletor! And soon I shall rule all of Eternia!"

Yune's brows furrowed as she felt something wrap around her arm. She turned to see some manner of magic holding fast to it. "You let me go!" She turned to him, trying to yank her arm away as if the physical effort would do anything to a magical restraint. She knew better.
"Skeletor, really?" Her lips pressed together. "Isn't that a bit on the nose?" Yune paused. "Well, I suppose you don't, ah---have one."

"........... A room for the one named Yune..." Skeletor couldn't believe someone was asking this. "Ah, let me think about that..-- Mm... No. Absolutely not!" He stood up, a motion that was as elegant as the cloak around his shoulders, and how the purple fabric draped elegantly to the floor. Leather boots tapped as they descended down the long stairs towards her.
"My fortress, my castle... It is not some establishment for the lost and weary! It is the headquarters where I devise my most incredible schemes!" The staff in his hand he twirled, before stomping the lower end on the floor as he paused not too far away from her person.
"You are not a guest. Not yet. Not until I decide on what to take... First off, how did you manage to get in here? My special spells should have prevented most from entering." He wasn't even going to mention that Evil-Lyn had an even greater hand in enforcing the area with her own dark powers.

Her brows rose as immediately her request was met with an angry tirade. She wore an expression akin to a schoolteacher who was being talked back to by a cheeky student.
"Well now, there's no need to be so rude." Yune huffed. Then considering his question, she waved a dismissive hand. "It really wasn't all that hard. There was nobody at the entrance. And. those warding spells outside are admittedly a bit, ah..." Her gaze lowered as she cleared her throat. "...primitive."
Yune snuck a peek at him, smoothing out her skirt. "But that's really neither here nor there. If you wish for me to leave, then I won't argue. I'll simply be on my way." And with that, she turned on her heel and made for the door.

".......... Care to tell me why my ENTIRE CASTLE OF LACKEYS just let an individual THROUGH the doors without any repercussions???" That voice practically boomed out from the one sitting lazily on his throne, and those red eyes were glaring over towards the intruder. He had been seeing much through his glass Ball of Sight; with it's purple light and smoke cradled inside-- when this one managed to sneak on into their fortress. He was annoyed, but tried to retain his cool when he realized it was just the two of them still, and none of his others.
"....Ugh. Imbeciles!!!" He sighed, rolling the ball in his palm and considering them from across the way. "Well, do come in... Don't be shy."

She had been to stranger worlds than this, though it had been a great while since setting foot somewhere that seemed so fantastical. She'd perhaps lingered too long in a realm filled with iPhones, social media, and generations labeled by the alphabet. It had colored her perception enough to inspire the thought that this all seemed rather like a television show.
That thought was further cemented upon reaching a castle built to resemble a snake. Certainly not the most inviting structure, but the only one in view for some distance. Yune entered without much fuss, wondering at the lack of guards or servants or any personnel one might expect in such a place. The hallways were quiet, and wandering past rows of doors and up winding staircases was beginning to grow dizzying. Finally, the tedious trek came to an end upon reaching an impressive throne room.
Before her sat a figure who seemed to be the sole occupant of the entire castle, and someone none too happy with her arrival. Still, she approached (cautiously) with a smile.
"Good evening, sir. My name is Yune, and I'm a traveler in these parts. I was wondering if you might have a room to offer for the night?"

Never in his life, for the thousands and thousands of centuries he’s lived, has anyone or anything ever asked about what he was the King of. The very question had him physically react, every spine on his back and the horns on their heads flared out with it, but that was all of it for the moment. He was still so perplexed by the idea of someone talking to him, more or less of the same species in some capacity, and it had him at bay for a little while longer. “Yune, it is…” The center head continued their chat, if anything it was to acquire more information about this one. “Quite a lovely name.” His body turned more, heads leading the charge, and he was trying to get a better look at this creature. Those webbed wings stretched to help anchor the turn, and they also were unintentionally showing off the power they held as well, with each long limb slamming into the oceanic waves after he was situated enough. The three heads lowered, each pair of eyes burning with electricity, but his posture was still retaining curiosity. It was something to say that for the shortest moment in time, for nearly the first time, something has put a halt to his rampage-filled tendencies. “…What… do you want then, Yune?…” The center head perked up slightly, the others following after, and their eyes traced the places where the fallen enemies once were. “Dear friends of yours? Or… were you one to fight against them? I know this world is plagued with that kind of conflict among themselves.” | @lunariisms |
Her head bobbed in acknowledgement of the compliment, a slow and laborious action in this form. Already, it was a strain to maintain the shape, one she had not held all that often, not in a world where dragons were simply things on television screens (and often not as talked about as the scandalous rendezvous of the attractive actors around them).
She also did not miss his display of power, for it certainly was anything but subtle. Yune did her best not to neglect her own stance, keeping her head drawn high and her gaze on him. Still, the sight of the fallen bodies surrounding them like islands did little to boost her confidence.
“Neither friends nor enemies,” She spoke truthfully, of course. She did not know their names or goals, only her own. “I simply want to know about your intentions. So much destruction must have a purpose, a goal?” Yet she knew as well as any that the statement was far from absolute. Not everything had a purpose, even terrible things that at times seemed like divine punishment. Some things were just like forces of nature, beyond anyone to control.

The destruction of worlds was what this creature thrived on, seeing inhabitants and all plant life obliterated before his might gave him all that he needed. It was usually so easy, but every time he did visit this world other creatures would try to make their stand against him, all ending up the same; Beaten and lifeless. The largest of the three that dared to challenge him was the last to fall, and his hulking spiky form crashed into the waves with a bellowing screech. With a victory call, the King stood among the crashing waves and the red that pooled at his waist shined dark, all from his pathetic enemies. This victory was short-lived as he sensed something else approaching, and all three heads turned slowly to face the other that came closer. Each set of eyes burned as bright as the next, by the middle’s were the more ferocious, and the one who was in charge of the two beside’s it. The left and right heads twisted and snorted, desperate to want to speak back, but the middle was the one to reach that goal first. “….King…. Ghidorah….” It growled, and the long wings that made up most of it’s form stretched as lighting sparked behind to give the most dramatic back-light. Though unintentional, the stance he was posing in now bled with dominance and power. It was the very nature of the monster of the stars, being everything encompassing misery; Thunder rolled as more bolts of lightning appeared all over the ocean in the area they lingered. Already he could tell that this one wasn’t like the other’s he’s fought, for none of them cared to converse as the first greeting, merely fight like beasts. “…Yourself?” It was a strange thing to speak first before a clash, and he was preparing for the first strike to commence. Though, he’d entertain this for as long as he could, as it was different enough. | @lunariisms |
"King,” She commented, with a curious incline of her head. “King of what?” The question rose of honest curiosity, but she realized quite too late why that curiosity may have killed the proverbial cat. And now, dragon.
“You may call me Yune.” Over the years, the witch had taken many names, but that was her truest and she felt the gravity of the situation lent itself to a degree of straightforwardness. Even so, the tension in the air was palpable, and perhaps it was only wishful thinking that led her to worry over something so inane as introductions. Ghidorah was hungry, anyone could see that, and she would wager that every second was simply the precursor to an inevitable battle. For the first time in a while she felt true fear, but just as she had taken many names, Yune had worn many masks and courage wasn’t one so difficult to slip on.

It wasn’t often that humanity was so directly faced with a threat that they could not even begin to comprehend. Natural disasters, unpredictable as they were, remained consistent and measurable forces. They possessed the means to talk about them, to study them, to predict them. Plagues had been combated by science and eradicated by the marvels of medicine. They had seen everything.
Until the monster. What else could you call a three headed beast that descended upon their planet with no warning and seemingly only one purpose: utter destruction. Humanity was completely at a loss of how to make sense of it, as to contain or to oppose it seemed impossible. Still, they tried, with weapons that did little more than a fly nipping at a lion.
She hadn’t wanted to get involved, but every day the gravity of the situation grew heavier. Other beasts had appeared, only to fall to this creature’s might. Yune had shape-shifted, less often as of late. Cats, birds, inconspicuous things. It had been so long since she’d last taken this form, since the world had even seen such a creature, but change was the very nature of the universe and she had always embraced it.
Thus it came to be that a large dragon, something similar to the one now unleashing Hell on Earth, waded through the waters towards this great foe. Her scales shone a soft blue, as if reflecting the hues of the sky above. Bright yellow eyes darted between the three sets of eyes that had turned to peer at her. They looked less than friendly.
“Evening...do you have a name?” The simple inquiry was uttered in a tongue that should have been understandable to the other, if her spells had gone as planned. The words sounded silly all the same in the face of such a situation, but there wasn’t much for it. Yes, perhaps no one has simply tried talking to it. And perhaps the sky is actually purple.

Almost immediately did that mask of pure calm, collected, and ever-stemming capacity for patience, seem to dissipate. Luckily enough for himself, the man kept his cool in check, but you could tell he was a little ticked off by the suggestion of it. “A vampire?” Trying to smile, to cover away any sort of displeasure at being called a blood sucking brute. The incredulity in his voice would have made her laugh were it not for the persistence of her headache. Instead, she turned from the kettle, pulling two cups & saucers from their place in the cabinet. Mismatched, to her slight annoyance, but there was nothing for it.
“So then, out with it. You’re clearly not from this time, after all. Walking around in a business suit and offering young ladies handfuls of gold.”
This time she did snicker, turning towards him with crossed arms. His displeasure was visible--almost tangible--and she was torn between amusement and dread at what attitude his forced pleasantness might belie.
“What are you...and what is your reason for seeking me out?”

He had kept himself relatively unseen by most of all on this world, and even up until this moment between himself and this girl. Glittering eyes of blue, almost silver, were finding their way to meet with hers, and he was dressed in quite the fanciest bit of clothing that he could find. A brief pause at her question, as if he were contemplating, recalling words he hadn’t found use for in quite a long time, before that silky smooth tone rang out into the quiet air. “Something is very amiss, dear child. I’m finding myself in a great need, but of payment and the like I cannot provide properly enough. Yet, what I can provide is a handful of gold that may suffice, for now. I need your help with a certain matter. I have heard much of your work, through the tongues of passing men I’ve seen in the town near here.” Needing to try and keep it all simple, but he felt his way of speaking may have been a large giveaway that he wasn’t… well… normal to these kind. And I suppose the garments are a poor cover, as well. The men I saw were wearing more of peasant clothing than anything like this… | @lunariisms |
Work. Of course it was. Her placid expression tensed just slightly as she stepped aside for him to enter.
“I’ll put on the tea.”
With that single statement, she busied herself with the kettle, leaving him to wander as he might towards the living room. It was a mess, in no state for company as none was expected. Books stood stacked on almost every surface, and jars (labeled & unlabeled) littered all visible shelf space. Little bits and bobs peppered the spaces between; crystals and feathers and shells from the nearest shores.
“Now, let’s have it straight, there’s no point in beating around the bush if you know who I am.” She began, tossing a look over her shoulder that consisted of raised eyebrows and no nonsense. “Are you a vampire?”
